Taking a break
I've been warned that needling JDTulane is not something the mods will tolerate....

I don't think I'd be able to resist needling him so I suppose I should take a break for a bit before I cross a line where the mods ban me.

So you win JD, thanks to the whinging you did to the mods, you have got to back out on your word, and pretend it didn't happen.

Thanks mods, have a good december

Sad day when a respected poster is ran off because of a dishonorable one.

I could not agree more. How that clown is allowed to post on the Spin Room is beyond me. Where is the honor in protecting the welcher?

I don't recall that the mods had anything to do with the bet, neither sanctioning it, nor warning those involved not to do it. From that standpoint, I can understand them taking a hands-off stance and not interferring with his decision to post in the Spin Room against the terms of the bet.

Though I do agree Smitty that their actions now constitute protecting the welcher. I'd rather have seen them just tell him when he whined to them, "you crapped your bed, you lie in it", and let him suffer the consequences for his lack of integrity.

The other participant in the bet, had he lost, would not be here today, but you can bet if he had not honored his word, no one would have screamed louder and been more indignant than the welcher himself.

You be the judge of how this bet was made and who was involved.

That would take guts. Per the PM I received from one of the mods on here regarding it that was his approach.

You were right Smitty, I was wrong as I obviously didn't read the entire thread.

If any of the two of us cant keep their end of their deal after the election, the other poster will ask one of the mods to completely ban that poster, that failed to keep their end of the deal, from the site.

Deal?

Loser is banned from the Spin Room

Lord Stanley and Bobcat Engineer
If Trump wins we each donate $100 to Toledo and Miami football, respectively.

Max Power and rath v2.0
Loser is banned from the Spin Room based on the voting outcome in Georgia.

The key thing here is that JD is apparently a mod in a different part of this site... It appears being "in the club" got him off the hook... But whatever.. See you all later

He'll always be nothing but a welcher to everyone here. Not one post he ever makes will detract from the fact he is nothing but a dishonorable welcher, oh and Hillary lost that election lol.

RE: Taking a break
I used to be a moderator here on the ODU, CUSA, Spin Room boards. It is thankless, and somebody is always pissed off at you. I believe in political term limits, so after 2-1/2 years, I resigned out of principle. That thread from LS really pissed me off, both in message and tone. LS is normally very reasonable and fair, and I respect his judgment. That said, none of us are privy to all the reasons a moderator takes certain actions. When LS says this was vetted among the mod team, I take him at his word and accept that there was a valid reason. I don’t like the decision, and am disgusted with the behavior of JDT, but LS has earned the right from me to accept valid reasons were there.

I don't doubt it was "vetted", I just question the judgement of those who support keeping someone you can't trust in a position of power. At my former occupation we fired people who lied.

RE: Taking a break
The worst job on this board is moderating the Spin Room. I did it way back when...even had one of them yeller names.

I do agree with ODU's assessment of the situation and thread. It was petty, wasn't clear and then LS refused to be clear about it and simply deferred to GTS. All I was looking for was clarity that the Tulane Attorney was going to be allowed free reign with impunity.

If that was the case, then so be it. This isn't a free country and none of us have a civil right to be here. It is all at GTS's good graces.

Curious, do we know for a certainty that LS's post was referring directly to personal attacks on JD, or just attacks in general?

Thanks.

Good question, and that is why I was trying to get some clarity. It was very vague.

About 10 of us, I imagine, got whiny "I'm putting you on ignore" PM's from the welcher a couple of days ago, and then the LS thread appeared. Yeah, he may have been talking about personal attacks in general, but I don't think so as I've read most of the thread here in the last week and don't recall anyone getting out of line.

The only person who got blasted was the drama-queen welcher weasel, so draw your own conclusions.

I suspect it was vague because LS had to pinch his nose with one hand while writing it. I don't know him personally but have found him to be very fair and even-handed with this madhouse. I'm betting he was posting what others wanted him to post and that he's not really all-in as the saying goes. Just my thoughts.

RE: Taking a break
I can see where he is coming from. Personal attacks violate the AUP, period. There is no rule for not following bets. As LS said, perhaps you should take that up with GTS and he can either blow out JD or force the spin room mods to add that to the rules.

My thoughts on the matter are that if you don't think he should be here, just ignore him and in effect he isn't. Why would you want to interact with someone anyway who you find to be less than honorable?

I don't really have a dog in the fight, but it is annoying to see the constant posts about the bet every time he posts anything. It just seems childish and to me, makes you guys look as petty has him. Just my 2 cents. Nothing personal. 03-wink

I fail to see how calling someone out for not honoring a bet is against the AUP... but thats just me.

I don't think it is. Although doing it every time he posts or adding other personal things into it likely is.

If we weren't childish, we wouldn't be here beating each other over the head with stuff that we know won't change anyone's mind.
