Last guess on salary I saw was about $900K per year with the incentives up to $1.5M. I think the $1.1M was in reference to Pry.

That would make more sense. That about what Brown gets

I'm much more excited about the $2M for staff, which about doubles our staff budget for last year. You can go after some pretty solid coaches, especially OC/DC, with that budget.

Yep that’s what we did. Ours is around the 1.3/1.4 million mark

I think the last one I saw (which I think was 2016) was just under $1M.

Eh. I just don't understand the need for anyone in the Sun Belt to pay a coach over a Million dollars a year, and I say that knowing that AState would gladly do so for the right coach.

To me, we are competing with 65 teams for one spot, with zero chance of rising above that spot. There's a cap at what one can achieve at this level, and there's in turn a cap at one coach can achieve before he gets picked up by other schools

Then there is the whole angle of, if the team doesn't win, you're out a lot of money trying to fire.

Complete and total load of nonsensical logical goobly goo based on a reasonable set of assumptions that has no place here.

I think this is a perfect hire for us he worked at Clemson, and Alabama. He also has a couple of National Titles under his belt. He is also only 38, and enthusiastic. Lets see what he can do with this program

I think this is a great hire for Louisiana. I also think the Belt as a whole has done really well with their new coaches coming in.

Why? All this does is force AState/Troy/App to match, which is a good thing for the league.

I just kind of wonder about the way the Cajuns throw money around. They put a lot of money out there to expand a football stadium, and haven't been able to fill the seats. They threw a million dollars at a coach because he won 9 games a couple times and went 3 straight years without reaching .500

Maybe its because our administration constantly uses ULL as an example of how not to spend money, but I just have to wonder if this is an efficient way of doing things?

2 million for assistants great. The hire is good...now the question is can they build a program again?

First off we threw money around first for the IPF, then the APC, then we expanded the stadium, we renovated the Cajun Dome, and built Russo Park.

Cajun Field had to be expanded because sooner or later we have to redo our press box and second level to our stadium, the expansion had to be done to keep the same capacity.

We are thinking bigger and better, this is the first time in a long time that we are not using the good ole boy network, and as we call it in Cajun Country USLing it. We are Louisianaing it, and really trying to improve our situation and be on that National Stage.

If it takes 1.3 million to get a decent football coach with 2 million lined up for asst. then so be it .
