Right now (12/6) every team has a winning record!!! The only other conference who can say that is the Big XII. What?!!!!!

Not exactly against murderer's row, though I will say that we've played better than most expected. A lot of people came into the season saying this could be one of the worst seasons of MAC basketball in our history (myself included), but it could be worse.

And the MAC's RPI shoots up to #12. The most important part of having winning records OOC is that, once conference play starts, it propels each conference member's RPI's even higher since the largest portion of RPI is based on opponent winning percentage.

Even still, we have no shot of an at-large.

No shot? Have a team win out from now on and lose in the title game with an RPI in the 20's or 30's.

However, no MAC team has ever done that, at least in the modern era. There was a 17-1 team 15 years ago. It’s ALMOST an impossibility in this conference to go undefeated, particularly this year when there doesn’t seem to be a single dominant team. Technically possible, practically impossible.

But what team is going to win out? Right now we can see the league has some parody to it. Like always, the league will get won at 12-6 and nobody will have a chance at an at large.

All that was said is "impossibe..." Even the worst league can have a team go 30 and 1. Lose on a buzzer beater to a .500 team and the 30-1 team will still get in.

I think every spring someone has started a "can Akron get an at large bid" thread with they hypothetical that they'll win out except the championship in Cleveland. No matter who it is, I won't believe it til I see it. Right or wrong we are a one bid conference now, it'll take a lot to change that perception.
