Well, it's tough for QBs, but I'll appreciate it if we keep up the mantra that we'll strive to out-recruit all of our current players. I just hope this isn't an indication that something is wrong with Wassink.

That thought crossed my mind too. A few possibilities, a QB might be transferring out, one of the QB commits might be decommitting, or simply trying to build addition QB depth. Should know soon.

He's good. Syracuse had offered him a year or two ago, then LSU came on late. He's a shade under 6' tall. If he were 6'2", he'd have been a national recruit.

I had the same thought about Wassink... worried that maybe his recovery isn't going as well as they hoped... maybe the injury was worse than thought... who knows. I would agree that there are likely going to be some attrition at the position through individuals leaving the program or possibly losing some QB recruits...

It is really telling with the type of QB that Lester has been targeting... It looks like he wants to bring some true dual threat to our offense...

Indeed he is. Mr Football in HS. Lester recruited him at Syracuse. Key is if he wants to stay home or come north. I don't think his height is so much an issue, UCF's QB is 5'10" and was passed up by many D1 programs.

Can any of those kids from that east Mississippi CC program read? I wasn't impressed when I watched the show.

The QBs at East Miss always seemed a few steps ahead of the rest of the team academically.

Regardless of Wassink's health, this is a good move. Tim knows he can't have another year with a shaky QB situation. I hope Wassink is good to go, because we were seeing improvement before the injury. If he goes down again, though, it will be nice to have a good backup.

Someone linked to a radio interview with him in the recruiting thread I believe, he sounds intelligent.

I didn't watch the show, but honestly after listening to a lot of college athletes talk and it's clear they didn't have very good high school or home support, to put it mildly...

The show you watched was last season. Lindsey had an offer to Harvard out of high school. He is well spoken and bright.

He was also apparently recruited out of high school by Lester when he was at Syracuse.
