Look next door at CUSA, they had a announced crowd of 13,000+. Thats pretty embarrassing to be honest.

Wasn’t it more of a defacto co-championship game?

Correct. There was already a champion of the Sunbelt at the time. All this co-champion nonsense is bull****. Maybe only the outright championship years should count!

Makes the 27k+ even more impressive. Next years championship game gonna be good.
Someone posted this on gsufans. Not sure if it deserves it’s on thread or not, but it’s the numbers for all games this year up to last week.

My guess is it’ll be in the same place as this year.

Who’s your QB next year?

Probably Kaleb Barker, who has seen playing time
This year and had recorded a couple TD’s... He’s more mobile than Silvers and can sling it, QB won’t be a issue... and we have other RBs besides Chunn as you saw.
Sawyer Smith will have something to say about that. The QB battle is going be fun to watch as both are dual threat, fast and throw good balls.

We just got a commit from a 3-Star JUCO running back. He's 6-0 230...

Wonder what the gameplan for next year is lol...

I really do think ULM has a very good shot at being in the inaugural championship game. Hardly lose any players, get lots of injured defensive players back, and will add some JUCO, etc. We will definitely challenge Arkansas St.

Man I sure hope not! I hear he is very happy here, but him transferring is a worry of mine. Hope the Cajuns don’t try to lure Viator away too. We have a good think going. Green is a game changer.

RE: Championship game
I don't know what the attendance was in Boone last week, but I suspect it was very good. The stAte crowd, along with a good group that traveled from Troy and their band showed that those 2 programs will support an on-campus championship game. Same is probably true for App, Ga So, UL. That is what is needed. I would hope other schools like USA and Tx. St would have good attendance in a big championship game at home.

USA championship games have been really embarrassing. This year and even other games I have seen with WKU playing only showed about 16k at games. Unless its Marshall or Southern Miss, they really haven't shown a lot of support at the end of the year. The most embarrassing was Tulsa in the P6 a few years ago. They had about 7000 in the stands.

You may need to remember this was a regular season game for us. We had already sold season tickets. A CCG is kind of like starting over. I doubt any of of us would draw as well for a CCG game as we do for regular games. Having said I that think we and the visiting Troy fans represented the SBC pretty well.

Good point. How does that work? I assume a new ticket, wonder how the $$ from the revenue shakes out? Home team should get a bigger split. Away team should get travel costs. I'm sure Mr. Peanut gets his little greedy hands in the pot.

BTW, I was driving to the game last week and listening to pre-game. He told Bobo that he had sent SBC reps to all of the other G5 championship games in Boca, Orlando, and Boise so they could "learn and observe how other conferences handle the games" I thought, what a waste of $$ by the Commissioner's office. What in the hell could his minions possibly learn from taking a trip to Boca to watch FAU play a football game against North Texas? I would think picking up the phone and picking their collective brains would be more than sufficient. Someone should audit the expenses of the SBC commissioner and fire that clown
