Frost and his 10 win ultimatum
Some fans are giving him slack....... but just the fact that there would be a thread like this tells you a lot of the unrealistic expectations...... they do realize they are currently dumpster fire and play in the B1G...... dont they?

https://nebraska.forums.rivals.com/threa...es.197512/

Gonna need to build a wall around his parents house.

Started already, placing a time frame on an objective measure of success required. Sounds like another 4-5 yr wonder who will get fired because he can't work miracles. Like Odom at MO who probably has another 2 years to have MO competing for the SEC east or he's gone, Frost faces even higher expectations.

RE: Frost and his 10 win ultimatum
You're right, Nebraska is a dumpster fire right now. But you all seem to be forgetting UCF was 0-12 when Frost took over. Most would agree that also was a dumpster fire. Are Nebraska fans delusional, yes but Frost has already shown a track record of rebuilding quickly. I think he can do the same at NU especially since the B1G west is garbage. Also Nebraska won 9 games the season prior. It's not a total rebuilding job as many are making it out to be.

Purdue in the same division doubled their win total this year with the right coach. They had been awful the last decade.

Nebraska 2018 Schedule: 6/7 wins
Akron
Colorado
Troy
@Michigan
Purdue
@Wisky
@Northwestern
Minny
@Ohio State
Illinois
Michigan
@Iowa

The 2019 looks much easier: I could see 8/9 wins here. 10 would be stretching it but the 3 toughest games Iowa, Wisky and Ohio State are all at home.
South Alabama
@Colorado
NIU
@Illinois
Ohio State
Northwestern
@Minnesota
Indiana
@Purdue
Wisconsin
@Maryland
Iowa

You are missing the point. 10 wins. That is pretty hard to do in a short period of time competing against BIG teams and recruiting out of state. They have their bar very high. He could have 8 to 9 win regular seasons and not sniff a NY6 game.

I will say recruiting Florida vs Nebraska is a whole different animal so the rebuild will not go as fast unless he is recruiting some UCF players.

i'm guessing that for even the most reasonable nebraska fan they'd like to see it in year 3.

9 wins weren't good enough for a couple of their coaches. unless his golden boy status buys him a few extra years to get those 10 wins.

And recruiting to Nebraska is different than recruiting to UCF. He can go national. Theyve won at least 9 games 8 out of the last 10 seasons. This isn’t that awful of a rebuild as many are making it out to be. I honestly wouldn’t be surprise to see them in the B1G title game in 3 years with how bad the West is. I get UCF fans are upset but Herman taking over Texas was a bigger rebuild than Frost with NU. He’ll do just fine.

I think there’s a big misconception that since ucf went winless that the players were terrible but it was more of a reflection of who was running the show. The players quit when it was clear there was no one in charge.

9 wins isn't good enough when the coach is a jerk. Pelini wasn't fired because if wins and loses.

Tom Osborne had no problem assembling some badass teams there. They need to probably schedule Texas teams and go back there to recruit again, but Frost has Florida ties too. They won't have problems recruiting there like some imagine.

you beat me to it. Pelini was a world class prick. Solich might still be there, but he got a DUI. They had to get rid of him. Remember Pelini's brother at FAU? He got canned for illegal drug use. Interesting bunch for sure.

Nebraska was Nebraska before scholarship reductions and then later paired with an over the top walk on program.

With college costs going through the roof, not sure the walk on idea works as well. It'll be a lot harder for kids to turn down full rides to stay home and play out of pocket like they were for Osborne.

Frost will get 1 or 2 great classes just off the UCF hype alone, but that runs out in year 3, 4 and 5.

Should be interesting, that's for sure.
