The Silverdome
It will be missed. The Bearcats had 2 appearances in it for bowl games. The bowls were fun to attend and within a day's driving distance. Hopefully the explosives are better next try or the engineers get it right.02-13-banana

Oh and the Bengals played an NFL championship game there as well.

I think we attended both--one in a big snowstorm that had Bearcat fans dreaming of a bowl with sunshine and palm trees. I recall a loss to Toledo...and a loss to Marshall maybe? But we enjoyed just having a bowl game, a short drive, and a warm environment. I think Aretha Franklin did the halftime show one of those years too? That was worth the price of admission.

The Toledo game was my first UC bowl game. I remember being worried about the snow but the driving trip up and back worked out fine.

I have never attended a FB game there, but I have always thought that Ford Field would be a good venue to catch a game in...

Not that I want the Motor City/Little Ceasars/Dominos/whatever.com bowl back in our conference alignment. (Unless it were an AAC vs. B10 match-up.)

Was there for the infamous Toledo game where the players revolted because of Minter's antics.

Detroit, what a lovely city. Postulating why demolition didn't go as planned.

"Cuppetilli said the limited amount of prep time and possible vandalism may have caused the ceremonial blast to become a dud."

Limited prep for an EXPLOSIVE DRIVEN DEMOLITION???!!! And vandalism of a site with an EXPLOSIVE DRIVEN DEMOLITION???!!!

03-lmfao Sounds like something else may be demolished later this week by the vandals that stole the explosives.

Had a great time at both Motor City bowls but that place was awful. Can't believe they didn't demolish that place as soon as Ford Field was built. I'd love it if we had a tie in there regardless of opponent. We have enough bad bowls against bad opponents. At least itd be easily driveable in a great facility.

Getting into that place was a nightmare. Had to sit in the car so long for the one against Toledo that I almost wet myself after drinking a big Mountain Dew. Got out as soon as we entered the parking lot and took a huge piss on a big snow pile.
Wasn't that the game where the players mutinied against Minter and the assistants had to beg them to come out for the 2nd half?

I never heard that story. What was the issue?

I thought that was the Marshall game but I could be wrong. I always went p and stayed at the Spring Hill Suites which was literally right across the street so it was easy in and easy out with a walk to/from the game.
