Bessemer Academy, Spanish Fort, Prattville, etc. Freeman has something like 6-8 former players on UAB's squad, including the Johnston's. They absolutely love the man! He also has 3-4 Thompson players I'd love to land......Ahmad Edwards, Mo Edwards, the Rayam kid, the JR> Hawaiian QB next year, etc.

What about the big DT?

Mackie Lee McNeal. Seen nothing related to his recruitment nor us in a while. Would say P5 bound.

Isn't there a rule about hiring coaches from HS and not being able to recruit their former school for a couple years? Or was that basketball? or am I making it up?

I don't think it would apply here. You could always hire Freeman after NSD, but before spring practice. I went back and looked at the rule, and it does not apply here. The rule states that you can't hire a kid's high school coach for an OFF-THE-FIELD job......the cartel schools load up numerous off-the-field jobs, sometimes, just to pull this stunt.
