You won every conference game and deserve the "best" bowl available but to say you "blew out everyone in the conference" is a misnomer. FAU was outgained in 4 conference games and beat Marshall by only 5. Maybe time to tap the brakes a little bit in the accomplishments this fall.

Leading the nation a lot of the year in interceptions will shorten the field and thus the yardage for a particular game

Point is Florida Atlantic was dominant in conference USA this year and deserved better than this

As an outsider, I think FAU got hosed (by whoever made the decisions).

Here's the truth.
When it comes to conference membership, nobody wants USM because of our small market.
However, when it comes to bowl games, we are generally more attractive because we turn out.
So, sometimes actually selling tickets DOES matter.
Congrats on the great season. Beat Akron.

We could only be overrated if we were highly rated. We were not. And we still aren't.

Maybe there is. Possibly better opponents refused to play us, because of Boca Raton Bowl not carrying the prestige (or the payout) they think they deserve or due to risk against Kiffin's offense. I don't care anymore. Now that we know the opposition I am looking at it from my selfish point of view. I was never going to St. Pete. I AM going to Boca.

Glad you can attend the game but FAU (as Champs) are taking the second lowest pay-out and playing in your own stadium isn't much of a reward for your team after such an impressive season. It's like having filet mignon on the menu and ordering the chicken salad; just doesn't make any sense.

Especially when mediocre WKU is going to Orlando to play in the $1.3Million + Cure Bowl.

Just remember, this has little to do with payouts. All of our conferences have revenue sharing. We are playing in the Cure Bowl too (the SBC’s highest payed Bowl), and it makes little difference because the whole conference gets an equal share.
FAU didn’t make the sexy pick, the popular pick, or the highest profile pick, but staying close to home so they can generate revenue in their backyard instead of spending several hundred thousand is the SMART pick.

Didn't WKU win the conference last year and request to play in Boca?

NO one here is going biblical. We are 100% aware of what we are - a 10-3 team with a top 10 offense in the nation. Getting to the Top 25 ranking in any poll seems to be the top of our hopes and dreams. So, let me repeat, who here is overrating our season?

Why wasn't that FAU's bowl game?

Independence Bowl wants to sell tickets. Since they aren't a primary bowl tie in, they got to choose a CUSA team they wanted. If your name wasn't North Texas, La Tech, or Southern Miss, they weren't concerned with you, no matter how good your record may be. Consider this: If history holds true (and from the excitement I've seen from my friends who have been apathetic about USM football all year is any indication), we'll bring more fans to Shreveport for the bowl game than FAU had at home for the CUSA Championship.
