Really, congratulations. I know you guys have at least 3 power players that can make it happen for you. Now I know I’ve said congratulations twice already but you know what, I want to congratulate stAte a 3rd time. You really really really (with 3 reallys) deserve it and I can’t think of a classier bunch of fans the last 3 months of the season. Just tremendous.

Since Arkansas State fans love to belittle App State and claim superiority over App as a program, I would like to make mention of this fact:

Since 2014, when App State joined the Sun Belt directly off a 4-8 season in the FCS Southern Conference, Appalachian State is 27-5 in league play. Arkansas State is 26-6.

The Wolves are kings of the belt no longer, but if either one of us played APP today, I think we'd both come away with W's. APP did what they had to to win a SBC championship, but they played neither Troy, ARKST, or South Alabama. Just because you guys both played terribly against a 4-8 USA team doesn't mean that you should punish us for not playing them. Arkansas State has one win against a bowl eligible team. At least we have two.

Nobody's "punishing" anyone. We have a conference championship and a win over a ranked LSU and tough ARKST squad. Our losses are to a ranked MWC champion in Boise and a South Alabama team known for pulling off great upsets right after we beat LSU for our programs biggest win ever. I just don't think you guys would beat us this year.

South Alabama beating ARKST is a game I don't hold that much against them simply because of the weirdness of that program under Joey Jones. Losing to them is much more understandable than losing to UMASS and ULM in back to back weeks. I don't think APPs offense matches up very well with ARKST's defense. We were able to win the game with a kick return for a TD (we are #1 nationally), and red zone defense (also #1 nationally, by a somewhat wide margin).

Again, just my opinion, but I don't think you'd beat them this year. We all get to duke it out next year, so there's that.

I don't know if we would beat you either (I certainly think we have a good chance though). You guys were the best team in the Sun Belt this year. I just don't really get the narrative that Arkansas State has a better resume. The UMass game was bad, but with as banged up as we were (top three running backs out), it's understandable. Either way, it doesn't matter. The standings are the only power ratings at this point.

When there is drama in Jonesboro, we revert to our usual plan, which is poke App with a sharp stick. It used to be ULL, but they fell off a cliff.

It allows us to briefly forget what happened last night and our own many shortcomings this season.

Odd thing is, App kind of did what we did this year. They lost an OOC game they shouldn't, and a conference game they shouldn't that cost them an outright league title. I'm not sure who would have won had we played. Probably would have depended on the day. I do think Troy would beat App though.

Say Troy doesn't convert that final drive and stAte won.

Would there be as much backlash at Troy fans if they made the claim they were better than App?

Doubtful because

1. Troy fans aren’t nearly as arrogant
2. Troy has the actual resume, with a win over LSU, to argue that.

I can't help to feel sorry for stAte though; I feel like their program is in a toilet of a town with very little redeeming qualities. Where does this childish s*#t come from? I have never said anything negative about App or Troy. I won't judge all App fans based on posters like this one and I don't know why others act any differently.

Yesterday was frustrating but I hop all SBC teams win their bowl games.

I'll poke back a little when good-natured fans of other teams try to take jabs at App, but I'm with most App fans who find falcoapp's post unacceptable.
