The same day you stop moving the goal posts!
:-)
Purdue's revenues: $79M/year
W&M's revenues: $26M/year
Why exactly is W&M compared to Purdue when you're the only thing the two have in common?
Oh, I'm sorry ... I didn't realize that you had no interest in expanding your horizons, and see how other folks do things ... regardless of whether other folks are bigger or smaller ... richer or poorer ... and see whether what other folks do can, or can not, be done at our school.
I cite Purdue because I'm familiar with the school, and semi-know what I'm talking about.
I cite Purdue because I suspect that few, if any folks, on here follow Purdue, and information is always a good thing.
I cite Purdue because, in their world, they have to make decisions to keep up with the "big boys" of their world.
I cite Purdue because, at its heart, it is still an academic institution, unlike many of their peers, and some of our conference mates.
I cite Purdue because, at its core, strip away the money, Purdue is fighting the same fight as W&M ...remaining true to its academic mission, trying to compete at the highest level in athletics, trying to entertain its fan base.
Rocco, you're a bright guy. Lose the snark. I'm just trying to inform. I have no connection with VPI, UVa, UNC, Wake, Duke ... I can't tell you what they do... but I can tell you what Purdue does. Knowledge is a good thing.
Finally, if you really want to go ballistic, I could tell you what Iowa, Illinois, Ohio State and Rutgers do, given my family ties to those institutions...but I stick with the Boilermakers.
