Don’t fumble at the 5, game over.

You’re happy we lost. You need to get over to Gopherhole.com where you can swoon over #brocoach and his 5 win season 03-cloud903-cloud9

It sounds like harbaugh gets these grad transfers to agree not to go play at either a B10 school or a Michigan opponent for the next year. If that's the case then he won't come here.

QB depth is always a concern. Not sure why anyone would not want this kid to come here. Can't see a con to the idea.

I said offer him an opportunity to walk on in Spring Camp and try to earn a scholy, what's wrong with that proposal?

Most HC's have their own ideas about what QB recruits they want to bring onboard. Lester is no exception. What does Malzone offer us at this point besides being a UM bench warmer and a couple years older than a new HS recruit? He won't know our offense any better than a HS early-out who'll walk onto the team in January. Wassink has at least 2 years in the Lester program more knowledge than he would.

Lester will likely bring 1-2 more QB's into the program in the next recruiting class. Toss in Goddard, Wassink, Mussat, Tabone and Riddle. All of whom have been studying the Lester playbook for a year and a half.

I'm all for bringing in 5th year seniors, but we really need the depth in DL, Safety or LBer. Those are sectors where a guy can compete right away. QB will not be THE weak sector next season, but a work in progress.

Hope we get a bowl game so Goddard can get some more game time and practices.

Because UM is a far better football program, and guys that rarely see the field there like Richard Ash could be stars here. Alex Malzone wasn't only recruited by Michigan, he was recruited by a lot of good programs.

But hey, we are a 6-6 football team with a lot of our All MAC talent graduating, so yeah, let's thumb our nose at guys that got recruited to play for a big time program.

I'd didn't say thumb my nose at him, so apparently reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. I'd offer him a look-see at Spring Camp, to show what he can do. And UM has had their bust-outs in QB recruits in the past, being part of their program is no guarantee of success.
There are no "Look see" with 5th years anymore. You commit to a program early or move on. With the early signing dates the game has changed. Last week of November has produced coaching changes galore because December signing date is near and recruits, 5th years are priority. No one is waiting to spring ball unless they are below average talent just looking for a spot

Yeah, I've been spending all this time on a forum for the Broncos for 10 years secretly a Minnesota fan. Actually I'm upset about it, more so than most it appears that seem to want to make excuses.

Your answer is either A) coulda, shoulda, woulda, or B) Something about PJ Fleck or C) something about CMU.

Do you actually discuss what WMU is doing?

We may find out how good, or bad, he is first hand when we travel to Oxford.

Chuck Martin and Miami OH, where talent goes to die.

Wow, that’s a lot of rust he’ll need to shake off.

You notice these “retread schools” aren’t recruiting well.

Had a D1 coach tell me one time Grad 5th year transfers can ruin a locker room culture very quick. You have to be careful especially at QB position which is heart of the team. CMU had no one ready last year at QB which is why Morris came in. WMU is not in that position

Yeah, we've got QBs. No thanks to any transfers.

Interesting there are more posts about old QB with zero interest in WMU while a Top 30 QB from Florida visits WMU campus get hardly a comment.

All this talk about quarterbacks. Rector is welcome if he chooses but we have quite a few to work with. What we could really use is Tyrone Sampson. Last I've heard it's between WMU and Nebraska. Time for Coach Lester to work a little magic and get him to commit to the Broncos!!
