Lamb, Nunn, Gossett, Lewis, Fuller, Boggs, Stringer, and Howard (along with Sims who is now out for season) have meant so much to this program. Everyone of them sans Lewis will finish with a minimum of two All-SBC honors.

This is our last recruiting class with some guys brought in under the FCS days, amazing what they accomplished.

When stAte moved up the coaches were saying they recruited guys who never would have even talked to them when we were 1AA. The thing is those 1AA teams would have destroyed those team with 1A recruits. Sometimes good players are just good players without the labels.

The SBC, NCAA, and ESPN are now using Louisiana. Look how long it took to make that happen. It's going to take a long time as well to get them to stop using what we hate for abbreviations.

If you need to abbreviate, just use LA.

We feel your pain, it wasn't until after the Michigan win and people finally started to pay attention to us that they stopped calling us AppaLAYchun State.

Nice try......

Seriously, the name of the school is The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Like The University of Louisiana at Monroe. Should just go ahead and change all the names in the system to UL at Hammond, Natchitoches, Thibodaux, Lake Charles, Grambling, etc.

Louisiana Tech is the only Tier 1 University in the system so it makes since to distinguish their name from the others.

ULL is exactly the same as most of the Directional U's in the SBC, CUSA, and MAC that began as A&M's and Teacher Colleges. Trying to pose as something different through renaming is comical.

Do you still call Texas State Southwest Texas?

No, but some of their fans still like that name better and aren't ashamed of it. I've got no problem with GS College or even Ga Teacher's or 1st District A&M. In truth, 4 years after we earned University status by upgrading graduate offerings and increasing research, the system declared all 4 year colleges as "universities" and all other post-secondary schools as "colleges".

What's irked me since the discussion about us and App becoming members is the ULL condescending attitude towards two schools with 9 National Championships and a pile of conference championships between us against their school that can't count 10 seasons with 8+ wins in their history.
