Still very close with 10 left to play. Hope they’re able to get this W!

Still a promising outcome. 4 in a row at home so they should be able to grab some W’s!

13 of the next 14 at home and it gets way easier for the most part too. Team has looked way better than expected, just vs. a tough OOC of St Louis, Belmont, and (still Pac 12) WSU and UW. In all but STL, they were in it till the mid point or later of the 2nd half. Then a game vs Detroit-Mercy where SU won 101-72.

I dont think this team can win the WAC this year but right now finishing as high as 3 isnt out of the question. Jordan Hill (12.6/4.2/3.8) and Josh Hearlihy (12.8/4.4/2.2) both are way, way better than I imagined and Kavas (16.0/6.0/1.6) hasnt missed a beat off his FOY campaign. Had 25 today. He needs to be noticed more by the rest of the WAC, hes only a sophomore. Aaron Menzies has been inconsistent but when hes on, hes on with two double doubles already in 5 games.

Seattle has been impressive so far. No doubt about it.

RE: Thanksgiving Weekend Games
WHAT A GAME IN ALASKA! It all starts out in the 2nd half where Idaho gets out to a 12 point lead, CSUB follows with a 17-0 run. Then at the end first a horrific call goes against CSUB and Idaho goes down and hits a major 3 to take a 1 point lead. On the following Idaho possesion they toss up a shot miss and a foul is called. Of course it goes to Moataz Aly who shoots 30% on the season and he misses. Idaho's best player Victor Sanders goes to the line for a one and one and misses. CSUB runs up the court and finds Justin Davis of all people in the corner for 3 and he sinks it with 2 seconds left. CSUB wins 64-62! They play Central Michigan in the championship game of the last Great Alaska Shootout. My heart is still racing wow!

Always a battle when the runners play the vandals. First runners game I ever listened to was against the vandals Carter's sophomore year, it was a classic too.

Cal State Bakersfield into the finals.

Theyve played a lot recently, maybe this was a sign it should keep happening. Wasnt able to watch because of work but sounds like a heart breaker for Idaho. Gread win for Bako

Grand Canyon loses to the preseason 6 pick in the WCC San Diego 72-62. Hmmmm interesting developments. On the other hand New Mexico State handles UTEP at home 72-63.

Oh yeah and UTRGV loses 82-76 to previously winless and Kenpom 341 Grambling State at home. Not ideal.

RE: Thanksgiving Weekend Games
CSUB drops a hard fought final to Central Michigan 75-72. Some crucial mistakes at the very end. 26-9 free throw disparity is a little eye raising but oh well. Disappointing end to the tournament but still lots to like here. Especially Ricky Holden, Durham heating up and Justin Davis emerging as an important player. Aly has also evolved into a really good offensive player this year. On to UCLA to finish this long roadtrip.

I remember one poster saying that NMSU's Johnny McCants wasn't good. Hmm....

McCants

5 points in 20 minutes against a horrendous UTEP team. Very impressive.

Everyone NMSU plays is horrendous according to Clarity but Clarity spins a CSUB 20+ point thrashing by Georgia Southern into something awesome. Whatever loser.

RE: Thanksgiving Weekend Games
Johnny McCants is a typical freshmen with flashes of a big upside. McCants has responded well to Jans demands. He rebounds. He plays solid defense. And he attacks the rim.
