Brogan took a big hit in the Ohio game that caused a #2 shoulder seperation on his throwing arm, which had him miss the following week of practice, and was unsure he could play in the Kentucky game. In the Kentucky game, he took a big hit, and caused a huge thigh bruise. In the WMU game. he took another hit, which caused a bad knee sprain. Once again he was on crutches, and did not practice that following week, unsure if he was going to play in the NIU game, until warm ups. Brogan was told to only run, if absolutley necessary. Because of these injuries, he did not run the ball like he did his junior year. His junior year he never took any big hits. We all know what happened in the BGSU game.
Thanks!!
Fans, unless they have inside information, are pretty clueless as to how healthy a specific player is.
In the NFL the media follows the players like Sherlock Holmes looking for clues: a glove, bandage, a wrap, etc. Anything.
I don't consider myself an 'expert' by any means as to football. I didn't play varsity ball in high school or coached even pop warner or CYO football. I'm a fan.
Yet I do from time to time notice something that others may not.
I'm surprised that others didn't notice the difference in his game from 2016 to 17. The 2016 line did a very good job of protecting him.
The WMU game was especially telling. If I remember right, it was questionable if he could re-enter the game. He was hobbling badly leaving the field on I think a 3rd down play which he got sacked.
The other thing, which should be a legitimate question: Should CC have say burned the redshirt on Glass as Roback was getting beaten up week after week against very good teams.
If we had a Wiegers on the squad I'm sure he would have gone in and Roback rested for say the remainder of the WMU game.
