RE: Gulf Coast Showcase, NIU vs Penn
Is it too early to write off the season? I know it is not even December but in year seven of a rebuild you should be beating teams like Penn and Florida Atlantic.

Hey we have #8 on the "10 Most Unbreakable Records in College Basketball History". Any idea what the record is for fewest assists in a half or game? Pretty sure we can set that record if Monty really sets his mind to it and coaches these guys down as much as possible

Should have won today, but Penn is a very good team.

Doesn't a Monty team own the 4 points in a half record?
I am sure we can have zero assists in a game.

Does feel like we are witnessing beginning of end to Monty era. Feels like end not because NIU can't score, but opponents fg percentage is not one of a Monty led team , way too high. Team is not committed to defending

Its time for this to end. MM seems like a good guy, but it is hard to argue this is anything close to acceptable.

Glad to see the optimism for this year at least has already died.

The beauty of that record is that we broke our own record of five points in a half just a couple months earlier.

I find it funny how incredibly pessimistic you are about the football team (which has actually had plenty of success) while you are incredibly optimistic about a garbage basketball team that has been rebuilding for 25 years. What gives?

I just said NIU is the last team in the MAC In my rankings, Coach Montgomery era should be finished, and I also said NIU has a chance to win 3 out of 4 against Florida State, Utah, Iowa, and BYU. Please actually read what I write if you are going to criticize for it

RE: Gulf Coast Showcase, NIU vs Penn
First, I was there for first two and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the games. Penn got off to a great start as the probably made their first 12 of 13 shots and they were not all layups, MD. Penn is a good team. I am not so worried about the assists as German and Thomas do drive the basket well. Geno is worth the price of admission. I do worry about three point shooting. Siu is the only guy who can bury them and unfortunately he is one dimensional. Rebounding is another problem as Zelis is not aggressive and James and McCarty sometimes get out of control. James does work hard. Once Key gets back I think the rebounding will improve. I also think Demogerontas can be a good player. I was disappointed but have not lost faith.
GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
