Odds for this week's game
Opens at NIU-4. Toledo is -11 over WMU. Hopefully Toledo will be as mistake prone as we were to give the Rowers a chance.

Well, Franklin should be well rested. He only had 8 carries in the second half.

not to throw cold water on the huskie faithfull but UT will likely easily tame the Bucking Broncos in Ohio.

I don't see WMU winning on the road.
It seems like every year the Conference leader doesn't lose the last game.

RE: Odds for this week's game
I would really love to see NIU beat CMU and go 7-1 Conference play.
7-1 would either tie for first place or get first place.

Either way losing to CMU again means:

Toledo first
CMU second
NIU third.

Even if all three teams end up as 6-2, Toledo goes through by virtue of its two wins against CMU and NIU. CMU will have both a win over NIU and a far better crossover schedule record then NIU.

This has been a great year, however I want a share of the MAC West title.

If turdledo beats wmu and goes 7-1 - not 6-2 - and we are 7-1 by virtue of beating CMU and losing to UT Rockets , win mac west.
if UT loses to WMU and goes 6-2 having already lost to Ohio , NIU is MAC west champ with a win over cmu and one loss to UT.

CMU will have both a win over NIU and a far better crossover schedule record then NIU.

I fully concur with that last assessment sharing title with UT still retains a nice "ring" to it

That would make us co-champions!

RE: Odds for this week's game
If we lose to CMU and Toledo beats WMU, we will not be co-champions.
We have to beat CMU to earn a share of the MAC West title this year.
How can we beat CMU this year? This is Coach Rod Carey's chance to shine.
Let's end CMU's three game win streak.
Right now, I do not care about any Bowl game.
All I want is a win against CMU.

Coach Joe Novak had a 9-2 record against CMU. Only loses were in 1997(first year rejoining the MAC) the year when NIU had 0 wins and 2007 when are only Conference win was against Kent State University. This 9 game winning streak against CMU might have been amongst Coach Novak's great achievements.
