RE: P5 coaching changes...
So Nebraska does the deed and (presumably) immediately jumps into the competition to hire Scott Frost.
After Florida lost out on Chip Kelly, it's now possible that the Gators could also fail to land their second choice, Frost.

It's great to be a coach, not so great to be looking.
There aren't "lots" as Power 5 football just has possibly 12-15 good jobs.
Florida is one of them.
UCLA, Nebraska, Tennessee, Arkansas, Aggie, Mississippi are not one of those gigs.
Every program you named is a good job.
And, each of those programs are capable of breaking out big money to get who they want.

I don't think so.
I think Sumlin is 95% likely to be fired. But I don't think the Aggies do it until after the bowl season provided their next head coach is also coming from a bowl bound team. Could it happen sooner? Sure. But I think that would be more likely if you were hiring from a coordinator position, or a G5 head coach. But I don't think A&M goes that route. Instead I think they go after a top current P5 head coach. And should that coach be headed to a prominent bowl, or the CFP it won't happen until after his run is done where he is.

Or, Sumlin just takes the Arizona State job. TAMU doesn't have to fire Sumlin and pay his buyout, and ASU doesn't have to buy out the contract of Sumlin or another coach who is under contract somewhere else.

If Arizona State wants him, he's available and there are reports he is due the full buyout from TAMU in 60 days with NO offset for other work found.

Yeah, here's one of those reports. The TAMU representatives who negotiated and signed off on Sumlin's contract should be fired.

Texas A&M has fired Kevin Sumlin. Aggies owes him a $10.4 million buyout under the terms of his contact, which is to be paid in the next 60 days and isn't reduced if he takes another coaching job.

Well he had leverage at the time. One that shocks me is Norvell's $500,000 to get out at Memphis. A-State extracted $1.75 million from Boise State for Harsin. Gus only cost Auburn $750,000 and he literally dictated the amount when he signed with A-State.

if true, FSU with maybe the most important hire of all. program really at a crossroads. 25-12 now last 3 years(after losing only 11 games his 1st 5 years at FSU). 14-10 in ACC play last 3 years- after going 34-7 his 1st 5 years.

And heres the thing, everyone talking about the UCF coach going to Nebraska or where ever. He's going to wait and see if Fisher leaves because if Fisher leaves he would be at the top of the list for the FSU job and he would be more suited there with his FL recruiting ties already in place.
