RE: Latest Coaches Poll
The AAC has clearly separated itself from the Group of Five. The next step is getting four teams ranked, including two in the top ten.

We do that, and we have a legitimate claim for being part of the P6.

UCF should have passed Notre Dame who struggled with Navy.

Not a lot of difference between 7 pt and 10 pt margin vs Navy.
In both games Navy had the ball late in the fourth quarter driving for a chance to tie or win.

We do that, and we have a legitimate claim for being part of the P6.

The only way that happens is if we get more teams ranked in preseason polls.

And that won’t happen, because once the season ends, the fact we had three top 20 teams just goes down the memory hole, and the same ridiculously bad preseason polls will come out with teams like Texas A&M and Ole Miss in the top 20 because they are “loaded with talent.”

RE: Latest Polls
The next step I would argue, is for the AAC to get teams routinely in the pre-season Top 25. This is how you are able to crack the Top 10 from the outside. USF did the conference a favor by starting out ranked. If our ranked teams take care of business in their bowl games, we might see 2 AAC, maybe 3 start out in August ranked. A major step forward in the P6 campaign....

Except UCF did it on Navy’s home field to end their 17 game home win streak and ND did it on their own field. But other than that no............no difference at all. 07-coffee3

We played a lot sloppier and "non-Navy-football" against you. Twice as many penalties, giveaway turnovers...again, in both cases Navy was driving to tie / take the lead late in the 4th. Get over yourselves

Damn so many posters lately trying to downplay ucf victories... it's always the same song and dance... "we were uncharacteristicly awful against ucf but that's because of things we did instead of being outplayed and out coached"

OR I was responding to a C.Fla poster downplaying someone else - Notre Dame "struggling" when the Golden Knights "struggled" about the same vs Navy. Again, get over your-commuter-school-selves, Florida Tech.

Not a knock on Navy although I can see how it was perceived that way. This game showed the conference is stronger than outsiders give us credit for. They lost 41-8 to Miami and then were played pretty evenly by Navy. That shows there are cracks in the Notre Dame armor. With UCF sitting undefeated and a dominant win over ranked Memphis, that is enough in my mind to move them ahead.

Thanks for the additional explanation. I DO expect ND to drop a little - although Navy has spent plenty of weeks in the CFP polls (when having better years than this)

RE: Latest Polls
Big question is whether or not USF can slide in at #25 in the playoff rankings. Would be sweet to have a ranked vs ranked season finale.... with NC State, Michigan, and West Virginia losses, they must be awful close. 8-3 South Carolina is knocking on the door.
