RE: Laughable Scores - 2017 Football - Week 12
Kyle Whittingham is a great coach. But he lost this game for the Utes in the last minute.
Washington got the ball back at their own 28 after a Utah punt with 29 seconds left and no timeouts, game tied at 30. The Huskies ran a running play off tackle for 2 yards, content to let the clock run out and go to OT. But Whittingham called time out, apparently wanting to force UW to run another play or two for some reason.
During the time out, Petersen decided to not play for OT. A couple long completions later, UW is in field goal range and they win it 33-30 with a FG on the last play of the game.
Doh.

Dumb call. Shouldn't have punted and got the yard.

Tulane 20
Houston 17
Houston was favored to win.
Ashland 21
Northwest Missouri State 18
Defending D2 champ got knocked out of the first round and will not be the repeat champs.
Congrates to West Florida in advancing to round 2 of the D2 tournament.

Nothing laughable about this - #9 AU 10-1, #13 NWMSU 9-2. The phrase "defending champ" is just a meaningless label once the playoffs start. Some from NWMSU did not expect to win the title this year.

Sorry that hurts your feelings.
There's a difference between the top program in the country scheduling an FCS and a school that isn't sure they will win. And Mercer is a relatively new FCS school, which makes it even worse. There's not just numbers, but massive size and speed differences.
over half the teams(7) in the CFP top 10 had a FCS school on their schedule. 15/25 of the top 25 this week had a FCS school on their schedule. So, no.
USC, UCLA and Notre Dame never have. Texas has only done it 4 or 5 times. OU doesn't do it anymore. Ohio St., Michigan and Nebraska don't do it anymore. So, yes.
lol at Nebraska being a bastion of being a good team right now. Sorry but 15/25 of the teams in the CFP top 25 played FCS teams this year. It's just not Alabama.
And Nebraska doesn't even do it, unlike Alabama. You're making my point.

So what about the other 14 teams in the top 25 that did it this year? Sorry bucco, it's not just Alabama, and you damn well know it.
