Let Me Say This
I may not be around next week. The wife and I are retreating to the family camp in Northwest PA for the holiday. We pull out in the morning. While the wife and boy are visiting family I'll be attempting to take down a 300 lb bear with my compound bow. You folks behave yourself and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Ha. I'm probably gonna strap up with my .45. Should need one good shot.

Maybe I'm too conservative, but I would't rely on a semi auto handgun - plus I think the 45 auto is a little under powered for a black bear. Revolver is much more reliable, and if we're talking bear I'm not so sure the 44 mag is even the most safe round in this case tbh.

I'm not too concerned. I plan to be 30 foot in a tree and it be on the ground. A well placed arrow behind the shoulder and it should be meat in the freezer.

Sad to report no bear found on the entire 2000 acre lease. However did scout several nice white tail deer and planning on a return Hu next year for deer.

It sucks, but I had a good time. No TV, internet, and very little phone service. I hunted during the day and at night drank Tennessee whisky, a few beers, and ate hearty.
