Does anyone know if Jacob Evans is ok? Was his injury serious?

RE: Jacob Evans ?
I don't take the absence of information twenty hours later as a positive in this case.

RE: Jacob Evans ?
I do. We would have heard about a serious injury by now. My guess: Bruised hip.

As a life long UC fan, I'm going to assume he needs a hip replacement and will never play a game until I see him on the court playing.

I didn’t even see what happened. I tuned in and he was out of the game and never came back to the bench.

Probably 't need him for Buffalo, but UAB will be a challenge and so will Iowa.

Tom Groeschen:

Just talked to #UC’s Jacob Evans outside team hotel here in Caymans. Says hip is a bit tender but he will play tomorrow.

why even risk further injury to the hip? Its not like Evans will be needed to take care of Buffalo. He can sit up until the game before the shootout and the team should keep winning. Let him rest, play the game before the shootout to knock the rust off and be healthy for that 4 game stretch with X, Florida, Miss St and UCLA.

Hopefully, he will get limited minutes and just make a cameo. He's probably chomping at the bit to play and like most players, hates to sit.

For all we know, he may sit all this week. I don't think he or Cronin are going to share that with Iowa or the other teams in the Cayman Islands as those coaches game plan for a highly ranked opponent. I also think we're kidding ourselves if we don't expect a close, competitive game from Iowa.

True. Just don't want to see him re-injure it. All it takes is for him to go up for a layup or rebound and get his legs knocked out from under him. Gonna need him to stay healthy all year.

I feel like hips are one of those parts of the body that benefit from “staying loose” versus getting rest. But I’m no expert.

I would. Get in the flow of a game without having to do any physical banging.

RE: Jacob Evans ?
I would guess they won't risk him. Depending on the injury, it may be something that is not susceptible to re-injury and just needs to stay loose. I know a few times my hip has been really sore, but then once I start moving and loosen up it feels fine. Once I sit again for a couple hours, it would be sore again. Of course there also have been some times that it doens't feel good period. I don't have chronic issues with it, but probably a half dozen times I've done something to it that has bugged me for a week or two and I never got it checked out as it always seemed to work itself out.
