If he had stayed he would have been a senior last season.

That's what I was thinking. Assuming, however, he'd have gotten that wicked lung infection he had while at Bama, he might have been with us this season.

I am sure he had a lung infection but him not returning had more to do with trying to get a medical redshirt than the infection.

RE: Nick King Led MTSU in Scoring Against Belmont
Glad to see Nick being productive but he left Memphis - his choice under the previous coach. Was unproductive at AL, then a medical condition & he was likely forced out either by the AL staff or seeing the improved talent on the AL roster & seeing the writing on the wall, he left AL for MTSU. What exactly does this have to do with Memphis basketball now? And BTW, I'm betting Nick is still getting most of his points off rebounds or close to the basket while he & his dad wanted him to play the 3. And still slow feet apparently if pulled for defense issues. Nick was a hard worker while here but had holes in his game unlike most 4* players & it seems he is now hitting FTs better too. NTR.

I reckon Nick doesn't much care what we think anymore.

Tubby made a terrible mistake by not pursuing Nick. We need him.

Aren't you one of the ones that were happy when josh let him leave?

Not a 3

Can't go left etc?

I guess he can score 30 without doing either right ?

Let’s focus on our team and not other Tiger fans.

However, the answer is no. I was disappointed King left Memphis and more disappointed Tubby did not lift a finger to secure Nick.

It is not worth a separate thread IMO, but Crawford - one of the three starters Tubby inherited now playing elsewhere - was the second leading scorer for the Land Sharks last night in a win over GA St. He played 30 minutes (the most on the team), scored 15 points, and grabbed four rebounds.

Let’s focus on ways we could have improved our team and not on fellow Tiger fans.

Tubby could have had King for this season. Think he could help out?

You don't know that. All you know is he left AL after quitting Memphis, then left AL & you want a guy back who didn't want to play at his last two stops?

Nick King washed out in 2 years at Memphis and a washout at Alabama. He didn't exactly show a lot of potential.

Nobody can know 'for sure' but I'd sure like to have found out.

Moot point now anyway......

Nick lead MTSU in scoring with 20 points (8/13) and had 5 rebounds in a win over TN State on the road.

Kermit Davis, holder of 2 NCAA Tourney wins including over Mich St the last two years, deemed King worthy but not Tubby. SMH.

You don't know that either. Why not focus on our team, as you love to say.

I like Nick and wish he'd stayed a Tiger. He could have, but like lots of others lately, he decided it wasn't in his best interest. Quitting once can be a bad fit. Quitting twice . . . well, you can't really blame Tubby or anyone else for being a little sceptical, especially with the numbers he was carrying. Not that impressive. Hopefully his new situation works out well for him. He's a Memphis kid. I hope they all do well.

Yep. The Nick King ship sailed when he left. When a kid elects to leave--any kid--buh bye....

As others have noted, if you want to wallow in the misery of what Memphis could have been, just watch next year's Kansas team. Two Lawsons and Charlie Moore will be there.
