2018 Sun Belt Conference Championship Game - Question
Southern fan here already looking on to next season.....

With the SBC not playing a full round robin next season it will leave us with 5 possible championship scenarios that would not feature a regular season match-up. Of these 5 match-ups which do you think is the most likely to happen?

App St. vs. ULM

Georgia St. vs. South Alabama

Coastal Carolina vs. Texas St.

Troy vs. Arkansas St.

Georgia Southern vs. Louisiana

It seems the answer might be pretty obvious, but nonetheless would love to hear some thoughts!

GS, ULM and USA won’t be quite at that point next year IMO.

App loses a lot.

GSU maybe but I’ve got doubts

stAte returns a lot, and Troy does as well

Of those choices recent history would indicate Troy vs ArkSt as the most likely matchup. We will get a preview in a couple of weeks!07-coffee3

I actually think that USA might be a lot better than people think.

They return basically everyone. There's basically one deficit on USA's team, which is a running game.

RE: 2018 Sun Belt Conference Championship Game - Question
The worst part about this season for Southern is that it is already affecting next season.

I had hopes that Summers and his staff would figure out some things and be competitive this season, but wasn't about to predict an SBC title. That said, we have plenty of contributing pieces that figure to be second or third-year starters in 2018, along with an offensive scheme that Eagle fans figured would be hitting its stride.

Combine that with the fact that the top three teams in what will be next year's division are losing their quarterbacks and the fact that there are non-zero chances that Brown and Satterfield could join the coaching carousel in the offseason and Southern figured to be the team most likely to take the biggest step forward in 2018. We've all seen how quickly things can change for good or bad by hiring the right or wrong guy, but anything short of hiring the next coming of Saban is going to keep Southern from realizing the potential perfect storm that I had hoped for next season.

I thought Silvers graduates from Troy so that might hurt them a good bit. We return a good bit, the only question is will we return the coach Jones for next season?

ULM returns almost everyone and will have our MASH unit of DB’s that are out for the year back. I think we have a good shot at the West.

I'd say it's be Troy and that pissed off group from Jonesboro.

But it really goes down to who keeps their coach this off season.

So what you are saying is Georgia Southern is doomed since they fired summers?

Red Wolves will return most of the offense and will have their QB back. Two WRs sitting out could be upgrades over the two we lose.

Not going to speak for Troy but I don't think that will make much difference for stAte.

There are some within our fan base who would volunteer to drive the UHaul if someone wanted to hire Anderson.

We’ll be fine either way.

We arent gonna lose as much as we may have since we lost a good number this season to injury, there is a reason we have 4 losses this season

Come back to me after the coaching hire for GS. As of now ArkSt vs Troy IF Neal stays. App will be breaking in a new QB FINALLY who knows how that goes. GaSt is beating bad teams this year they beat App I will give them way more credit.

Obviously, you missed the part about having all our injured DB's back next year (only one first game starter is playing right now). The last couple of games we've played up to five freshmen on the field at the same time on defense. That's a lot of experience coming back next year as backups to regular starters. I'm expecting a much better defense. Same thing on offense and it should be even more explosive by next season. We're playing a lot of WR's and RB's due to injuries and lose only one guy on the offensive line for 2018.

From what I hear, that's not very likely at all, which means, nobody should count South out until we know who the coach is.

03-lmfao prisonmike .. . love your moniker .. .

After our past two seasons (this one included) not sure why you'd even mention TXST and Championship Game in the same sentence .. . though it did give me a good chuckle. .. .
