How to finish a game
Here's what the boys did last night after WMU's long pass completion in the 4th quarter:

-Stuffed WMU on the next set of downs and made them settle for a field goal, which was huge.

-Took the ball 67 yards on 10 plays for a TD with the big play being Wimann's great catch at midfield to convert on 3rd and 7.

-Held WMU to a three and out.

-Ran out the last 5:21 on the clock even though WMU had everyone in the box.

That is how you finish a game, great job all around. A few other items of note:

-At halftime we had 11 yards passing, 95 total yards, 8 minutes and change time of possession and were winning 21-14.

-We won a game last night when we gave WMU the ball on our 16, 12 and 24 yard lines, had 64 passing yards for the game and had a 7 yard punt. Crazy stuff, this is why I love college football.

I forgot to mention: Two years ago Huff ran right by Caleb Bailey on his long TD run and he did it again last night on the first play from scrimmage.

RE: How to finish a game
We won with a -2 turnover margin and multiple offensive penalties that cost us drives. Generally a team with a -2 turnover margin has around a 20% chance of winning. With the wasted drives on offensive penalties and brutal wind last night, that had to be much lower. They closed it out and made big offensive plays when they needed to. No doubt about that.

Maybe I have gotten too cynical in my old age, but Carey was going to use the "let the other team run the clock out" strategy that we have seen before.

RE: How to finish a game
It is always great when the offense can finish a game. Easier on the ticker.
I have a heart attack when the defense needs one last stop to win the game.
