You forgot about our 3 linebackers and if you're going to include our Punter, then don't forget about our LS.
So basically you're saying even WITH all the injuries, we have 15 starters back from last year's team playing (about two-thirds).
Thanks for clarifying and setting the record straight.

It seems like there is no middle ground. It is either the sky is falling, can we find a new coach now mentality or you are accepting mediocrity and should look forward to average for the rest of your life. Why doesn't the definitely disappointed in how this season turned out but not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water work as a reasonable place to be coming from? I look at LSU and the "success" and "disappointment" they had with Les and they haven't really been the same since. I don't hear people calling for Jimbo Fisher's job even though I am sure their fan base is disappointed in how this year has turned out. No situation is exactly the same, but I don't get how you either have to be outraged with where we are as a program or ok with being mediocre.

There’s “love” for a coach, and then there’s “luv” for a coach. We’re not talking love as in I love my job, we’re talking “luv” like Lionel Richie sings about
Ever see the Seinfeld episode with Kieth Hernandez........

As I said in the post you quoted, you forgot our 3 returning starter LB’s (Spillane, Bailey, Brown), long snapper (Pfeifer), and I’m counting Bogan who is essentially a returning starter.
I’m not sure how other teams graduate players and continue to find success, but apparently we are exempt from this phenomenon and just have to settle for a bad year.
Next year we lose Franklin, Ernsberger, Spillane, Phillips, Brown, Pfeifer, Okorafor, Turner, Bailey, Rucker, and whoever else transfers/leaves the program (I suspect there will be a few key players we lose).
Maybe we just need a wave of “Lester’s guys” to come in and develop, but if sure doesn’t seem like Fleck’s guys are responding to this staff (Ernsberger and Franklin being the exceptions).

I believe he stated - STILL PLAYING. Bogan has been in a boot the last three games...

RE: It's funny how people here....
In all honesty I can't believe that down the stretch this team has been able to compete with the amount of injuries we've taken.... You could tell that we were bare bones in the NIU game when Brown went out and our run defense just got gashed ... we just don't have anyone left to substitute... You can also tell that a number of guys are playing at less than 100%... thats for sure... I am pretty sure that a bunch of guys would normally be riding the bench to heal up if we had any depth whatsoever at this point...

It is possible to be disappointed with the season and not think heads need to roll on the coaching staff. The two viewpoints aren't mutually exclusive.

I believe the HEAD coach may be good but since Lester is not an alpha personality he’s only as successful as his assistants. Some of the D3 assistants we have need to go.

Nobody thinks “heads should roll.” I’m just sick and tired of hearing all the excuses of us not having a deep and/or experienced team because it’s simply not true.
We were playing poorly and not up to our potential before the injuries (MSU, Idaho, Buffalo, Akron, EMU, and even CMU to an extent).
At this point in the season, obviously injuries are clearly having an effect.

Horse ****. Unless you're wanting him to publicly humiliate the team.

If by alpha personality you mean a narcsssistic nut job, I concur. I like coaches who are grounded and have their lives in perspective. The Lester’s exemplify that, and that transfers into the work environment. I watched that stupid “Being PJ Fleck” documentary and watched these two absentee parents trying to convince us that summer visitations and FaceTime calls during the season equates to involved parenting. That kind of dysfunction always catches up with people.

Yes, he does, because children are like that. He's been throwing a tantrum all season because HIS expectations are not the current reality. It's tiresome, really, reading all of his B.S.. Especially when he plays Kreskin and labels all who don't buy into his own brand of insanity as people who are "accepting mediocrity."
Disappointing season, yes. Apocalypse and proof of descent into mediocrity, no. Challenging situation, this season was. Just beat Toledo, win the bowl game and look forward to next season. And, you little baby, QUIT WHINING.

How silly of me to align my LOFTY expectations of being the best in the MAC with our head coach salary and admin’s commitment.
I’m flattered to get your attention but I’m far from alone in my thought process.
You’re the one calling it good with 6 wins, losses to Akron and CMU at home and another ho-hum 3rd place in the West one year removed from a MACC.
You guys sure get salty when people expect great things.

BTW MHB, I’m sure you’re aware of Dip’s board where everything’s just peachy and free of criticism.
You can cry and go take your ball home there with the rest of them if you’d like.

You think beating Toledo and winning a bowl game are gonna happen? Get used to saying, I'm looking forward to next year a lot.

I was getting hammered here by the same group of clowns when I said we’d be lucky to win 6 games back in September after the Idaho game... that was when you guys all starting thinking I was nuts and just being contrarian. It was easy to see back then. Well here we are 6 weeks later...

Hey Svengali, did your prediction also include a gaggle of injuries.
