Player with a cast on left arm-criticize his tackling
When your program loses it's disappointing, but criticizing a Bronco player because his tackling isn't crisp when he's playing hurt is petty. Phillips had a cast on his left arm, yet he was out there playing because we're thin at CB.
Kudos to him and I'm disappointed in the 'fans' who can't appreciate the effort.

Get over it.
Sucks that he's injured, but next man up. You can't miss tackle after tackle, and drop kickoff after kickoff and be free from criticism.
I'd rather play a younger guy and get him experience than let a guy with a cast on his arm play on an island and get burned every time.

What's the excuse for the other ten defenders?

I was speaking specifically of some criticism he took in the game thread. Unjustified.

Many of them are playing through emotional injuries right now.
Many of them have pataphysical soft casts on their psyches. Most of them listed as doubtful for the Toledo finale.

Brindlee, this is a college football forum, and I know folks here appreciate the insight of having a parent posting, but you have to know there will be criticism; particularly when it is warranted, but even at times when it is not. I suspect that is why more parents of players dont come around; and that is true for any other school message board too. This is an open forum, and frankly people should feel comfortable expressing themselves, without being overly concerned that there will be hurt feelings.
....at least that is how some of us "hell-dwellers" feel.

Seniors on defense played like they DGAF. Turner, Phillips, and all LBers were All MAC Preseason Picks. 3rd and 14, couldn’t stop it. 3rd and 7, ran for 8. 3rd and 10, Huff sidelined, back up runs for 11. Phillips was burned in coverage, fumbled two kick offs that resulted in flipping field position. Ernsberger shows up to play. Franklin shows up to play. The jury is out on Okerafor. He has NFL measurables, he’s very young, and he’s coachable. Last night Sutton Smith, a 6 foot 210 pound smallish DE blew by Okerafor repeatedly. Couldn’t block him.
In hind sight they should have let Spillane and any other player Fleck spoke to go. It’s totally obvious that Spillane’s heart wasn’t into it.
Guys who did show up? True freshmen. Arnett and Goddard. Seniors, not so much.

This is the psychological problem with message boards. Behind a computer, we all are 6'8", 350lb, 3% body fat, 4.3 40, superstars. In real life, most of us would lay each other out for talking the way we type.
I, for one, appreciate everyone on here for their dedication to Bronco Athletics even when I think they are over the line azz-hats.
Your son has been a very welcome addition to the FAMILY as you have been to this board. Many of us on here are not terrible adept at knowing where critique ends and ranting begins. Please trust that we all want the same thing in the long run and try to see beyond periodic douche-baggery.
Hopefully, Steven's injury was very minor...that was a solid chase-down effort.

I was wondering something similar here. If maybe some of that "hunger" died after last season's mountain top and the change in HC, inadvertently or not.
And I've also wondered about Fleck's Textgate, how many he contacted, and how many would've opted to hit the highway before KB snuffed it out.

Good post. You worded that well.
Thank you!
I salute Brindlee for his regular posting here and am thrilled to have him, and his son, part of our Bronco Family, as goofy as we can be at times.
Ultimately, this is a message board. There can be strong emotions and we are not required to "think" before we rant and hit the "post" button. Don't take it too seriously.

The losses? Not so much. My son's knee getting f'ed up and reading this kind of crap? Yeah, that pisses me off.

I’ve noticed that it looks like quite a few guys are playing through injury... I hope Steven isn’t too banged up... he’s been a beast up front. Been a rough year all around.

Hell yes Clark has played hard.
I'm not an expert...but I have a major Bronco problem. I have invested so much time and support...players' parents probably think us fans are ridiculous.

He's a bit beat up. Some of it cumulative since his freshman year. As of now, pretty sure he's not playing next Friday.
