I love how there is never any other reasonable explanation besides "the coach sucks" for you. Franklin had 27 carries in the game. In the second half he had 8 carries for a whopping 17 yards. It wasn't overly effective in the second half. He also could have been burned out...it was cold, windy and he's had a very heavy workload. He might hit 1,000 carries before his career at WMU is over.

I believe Lester mentioned in his presser that he was gassed.

I'm sure he was. He's asked to do a ton and 19 first half carries can take a toll. But whatever...it's the coaches fault.

He's a big strong guy and plays hard, but there's a reason they've alternated he and Bogan since Bogan arrived. Once he gets beaten up, he slows down. He's not a Shaun Alexander-type back (despite looking like one) who's better in carries 35-40 than he was in 1-5. When NIU played WMU in his freshman year, he was beat to s*^t by the time they played us on Black Friday. As good as he's been, he never really ripped up NIU because we always played him 10-11-12 games into the season.
