I want to start this thread by asking if anybody has a FloHoops Pro Membership.

Apparently it's needed to access live video for any of the games for both the Men's and Women's Tournament.

Nowhere on this website does it show the cost, and you have to create an account first.

It looks like you would need to sign up for a month at $29.99 and then cancel within the month. (or it is $150 to sign up for a year)

And this is a tournament that used to have a TV contract to put most of the games on TV.

$30 to watch streaming sports? I'll pass. What a scam.

Houston is a good team. This will be a big challenge for this team. Hopefully they go to beautiful Lynchburg and focus on the game of basketball and not all of scenery that can really derail the focus of basketball. Lets hope our defense doesnt do too much snorkeling.

I thought snorkeling was a good thing, or was that just under the previous coach? Actually, for this tournament and where it's now being played, I would love to have Coach Flint roaming the sidelines. The so called reverend would have a coronary.

RE: Paradise Jam
Obviously my post was mainly in jest based on the last time we played in this tournament, but I actually agree I thought the snorkeling trip was a good team building exercise. However there is really nothing appealing about Lynchburg, VA. I do hope we come out with some fire and play better basketball, regardless of the results.

RE: Paradise Jam
Game notes from Houston: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/hou/...115aaa.pdf

Some links to some of the great players in Drexel history.

The last time Drexel faced a Kevin Sampson-coached team was in 95-96 when he was with Oklahoma in Malik Rose's senior year. The game was one of only four losses in a season that would culminate in our last trip to the NCAA tournament (where we would advance further than Oklahoma who lost out in the first round).

The last time Drexel played Houston was in Michael Anderson's senior year in 1987-88. I think that was a bit of a disappointing year for the Dragons with Anderson and John Rankin as a junior losing in the first round of the ECC tourney to Towson. Towson did have a promising transfer come in that year named Kurk Lee, but he didn't play until the next year.

Another tidbit from the notes is that Houston star guard Rob Gray (who is on the watch list for the Jerry West award which goes to the best shooting guard in the NCAA) missed their first game against McNeese State because he played in a recreational church league game in the off-season. That must be some serious church league ball if you're bringing in one of the best shooting guards in the country as your ringer. His replacement, Armoni Brooks, came in and scored 22 points.

I miss being able to go into games against teams expected to finish between 50-100 in the RPI and to think we have a 50/50 shot at winning. Agree with Dan on 14 being a stretch, think mid 20s is more likely.

RE: Paradise Jam
I guess I'm more optimistic that you guys. Drexel might not win, but I'll take them and the 14 points.

It would be nice if we can get Overton back on the floor. Hopefully he does not try to do too much though. Hope the other Myles can get back on the floor as well; not that I would expect him to play a huge role, but he did show some flashes against Bowling Green and we could use the depth.

Clearly the biggest issue will be whether we can guard them and keep them off the offensive boards.

Hopefully they learned something from the Bowling Green game as well and can keep cooler heads if things start going bad for a bit. Looking back at the 19-0 run, we didn't even attempt a two-point field goal until the run was already at 14-0. That run started with a missed 3 (which wasn't a terrible look), we got the offensive rebound, but promptly turned the ball over 5 times in a row, followed by three 3pt attempts that were somewhat forced then another turnover before Harper actually got a two-point field goal attempt up. Another turnover and a forced shot as the shot clock was about to expire would follow before Lee finally hit a shot.

RE: Paradise Jam
Since Spiker has come to Drexel, they've won only one game against a team with an RPI better than 198. That was the game at the DAC against W&M when I think I recall that the entire W&M team was sick.

Houston had an RPI last year of 62.

For today's game for Drexel, Overton I think it still out. Myles might still be hurt. And the team still doesn't play defense. I'm not expecting much today but an embarrassment.
Houston 94, Drexel 70.

Mercer wins the opener 63-48. If our game goes as everyone here seems to think, our opponent will be Liberty, but we can hope for Mercer.

Hofstra was 188 when we beat them.

Lee, Harper, Mojica, Doles, and Williams to start. With Armoni Brooks being replaced by Rob Gray in the starting lineups, both teams will have guys coming in off the bench averaging 22 ppg (albeit each only having played a single game)

Spiker says the Miyles boys are still hurting, but both might play some.

Turnover on the first possession, a shot clock violation nonetheless, is already concerning.
