How many have seen UC play in the past year or two?

How many will see them play this year?

Rankings are about as imperfect as they come. If UC continues to win, the voters may take notice of the winning, and potentially who those wins come against. Similarly if they lose, it will be noticed. But it doesn't mean that the voters actually watch them play.

Dickie V. has also promoted the ACC and Big East schools (plus Notre Dame). In particular he's been an outspoken advocate for small private schools, as he coached at Detoit/fka Detroit Mercy. He doesn't have much affinity for large public urban schools like UC (Louisville gets a pass because of Pitino and being in the ACC).

I can remember after the brawl with XU he was on Mike & Mike in the Morning doing his "Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down" segment where he gave us the "Thumbs Down". Basically blamed the entire melee on our program while describing XU players as good Catholic boys who do things "the right way".

I cannot think of any more of an example of "Mr. Irrelevant" than Dick Vitale. He is about two decades past his peak (although many would debate, how can you tell). You don't see him on Gameday (Jay Bilas is the lead guy there).

Thus my question, why should we care what he thinks?
