week 12 projections
stAte vs Texas State.....stAte might come out fired up and stomp them. If they come out flat like at USA , they win but squeak it out.

USA at GS.....USA wins. and big show down the following week to get to 6 wins.

ULL vs NMSU...my heart says NMSU and my head said ULL simply because they are at home.... Im going with my heart. NMSU wins.

Idaho vs Coastal.....Idaho gets a close victory.

ULM at Auburn....Easy Auburn wins

Troy, Ga State, App State on bye

I don't usually pick, mainly because my team is completely unpickable, but I'll try it this week.

USA at Georgia Southern. This is surprisingly a 'trap game' in many respects. Last home game of the year for a winless team against a team that is inconsistent. And USA has never beaten Ga Southern, ever (or any team that plays that particular type of offense). They actually don't play terrible at home either. I expect Georgia Southern to possibly be leading at the half. I think USA does get the win, but in a much closer game than many would expect. USA by 10 as they pull away in the 4th. If USA loses on Saturday, expect Jones to announce his resignation at the end of the season on Monday.

NMSU at ULL. I think NMSU plays ULL tough but loses in the 2nd half, by 7 points.

Coastal at Idaho. Coastal has shown some life recently. If this game was in Conway, I'd be expecting them to celebrate their first conference win. Its not, so I'll take Idaho by 7 or so.

Texas State at Arkansas State. This is probably going to get ugly. Arkansas State cr*pped the bed last night playing an awful game against a mediocre team on the road. They'll be playing at home, still have something to play for, and are probably mad as heck. The real reason I think that Texas State is doomed in this game is their defense. They don't really appear to have much of one. Arkansas State big in this one.

ULM at Auburn - Auburn will win. The only hope we have is for Auburn's defense to come out flat (and boy did that not happen last week vs Georgia) so that ULM can at least try to match Auburn's offense. Auburn by a lot.

ULM is only hoping to make it respectable. This is the first time that our QB will be playing in a big-time venue so we'll see how he performs (our #2 has played...and played decently...in such venues four times). We can hope that Auburn is stuck-in-the-past with its win over Georgia and looking ahead to Alabama that maybe we can come in and step on their toes a few times when they aren't looking.

I am not sure USA never beating a team before really works anymore. Maybe Jones is evening the score on his way out. Or fighting like crazy to stay.

I like the way this game is set up for you guys. I think you may have Auburn right where you want them. It’s hard for any team to get over the high that comes with knocking off the #1 team in the country, and there’s no way that Auburn isn’t already thinking about Bama. Still, this game does have the potential to be brutal for ULM, so we’ll see.

Auburn might come out flat against ULM. But Auburn has a good QB and running game, which has caused ULM problems. And then there's the whole defensive matchup.

ULM needs Auburn to come out flat, ULM needs to play a perfect game, and to have Auburn make multiple mistakes. And they have to shorten the game.

Not a knock on ULM, I just don't see an Auburn loss even if they come out flat.

It ain't unpresidented...I saw Troy do it against LSU. Stranger things have happened for the Warhawks.

The warhawks biggest wins have come against teams in some kind of transition (Alabama and Arkansas) or when good programs are really struggling (APP). Auburn doesn't really fit the mold. As far as Troy / LSU, I'm not sure other than their QB if they have a player that control a game like Jordan Chunn.

Not sure you guys picking Idaho over Coastal is the right call. I very much want to see a win since this is likely the last Idaho football game I ever attend, but the QB situation is up in the air and Paul Petrino said last week that if Linehan can't go (likely) our starting QB will be Mason Petrino, who is about 5'8" and who I've never seen throw a pass more than about 10 yards.

I say we burn the program to the ground first.

That rumor started on their message board as an example of where Butch may find another job and blew up from there. (Credit to DK for finding that).

RE: week 12 projections
It gets harder to pick Belt games every week as someone lays a rotten egg each week.

stAte vs Texas State.....I would expect the Wolves to have a case of red-azz after last week. TxSt has a way of hanging around in a lot of games but I expect we see a rebound from the Wolves. stAte wins by 17.

USA at GS.....The GS offense I saw against App on Thursday was the worst most predictable Eagle offense I've ever seen from Statesboro. USA has to be on a high and I expect that will continue in Statesboro. The Eagles don't give up but it matters not. Jags win by 14.

ULL vs NMSU...Kind of a pick 'em in my mind so I'll go with the home team. NMSU by 3.

Idaho vs Coastal.....Coastal has improved even if it hasn't shown in the win column. It will this week. Beach Chickens win by 1.

ULM at Auburn....I wouldn't want to play Auburn right now after seeing the boat race they put on UGA. ULM's QB is very athletic and he might be running for his life this week. ULM keeps it close for a quarter but Auburn rolls. Tigers win by 28.

Troy, Ga State, App State on bye. Here's hoping the Apps get healthier for what is now a big game in Hot Lana coming up.

ULL is the home team but I like your pick. Should be a good game regardless, we have won the last two meetings. Let's see if we can ruin a fourth homecoming this year.

I'd rather hire Bielma than Butch Jones. But quite frankly, I'd rather hire a good FCS coach that is young and hungry, or just promote our DC.

With the money Butch Jones has coming to him from Tennessee, he can afford to sit out a year and re-calibrate his career aspirations without the hassle of recruiting, practicing, game planning, fundraising, etc. A few studio appearances in the second half of next season, and his name will be back in the mix.

If Mason Petrino starts at QB (likely) Idaho will lose to Coastal by 2 TDs. The defense is solid but with Mason at QB we will be lucky to get more than a handful of first downs and I'm sure we'll see him turn the ball over 2+ times. Being on the field for 40+ minutes will tire the defense out and this will likely be the big momentum changing moment for CCU's program. They'll win out this year and probably go on to go bowling next season.

One team trending upward, the other about to become as irrelevant as possible.

21-3 CCU wins.

If Richardson plays I'll still give it to Coastal but something more like 16-13.

Rumor going around that BUTCH will replace JOEY as USA's next head coach. What say ye?

I'd rather hire Bielma than Butch Jones. But quite frankly, I'd rather hire a good FCS coach that is young and hungry, or just promote our DC.

Prefer Mario Cristibol over either of those guys. Would like to see an FCS coach or a P5 coordinator.

An 11 year old Girl could play QB and lead an offense to more than 3 points against Coastal's defense.
