53 in, but only 54 still possible starting Saturday play.

AAC changed to 3 out when Cincinnati lost Friday night.
SEC has been at 1 out since February when Ole Miss self-imposed a bowl ban.

RE: 'XVII Bowl Season
I used teamrankings.com's win-loss projections to come up with the most likely number of teams that will be eligible for each conference, and CBS' projections for New Year's Six bowls. With those two resources, here are the extra bowl slots that will be open as well as the number of extra teams for each conference. In short, there are 78 teams projected to be eligible for 78 slots.

Open Slots
Frisco vs AAC (must be CUSA/MAC/SBC)
Belk vs ACC
Birmingham vs AAC
Independence vs ACC
Heart of Dallas vs B1G
Heart of Dallas vs B12
Quick Lane vs ACC
Quick Lane vs B1G
Cure vs SBC

Extra Teams
Pac12
Pac12
MWC
MAC
MAC
CUSA
CUSA
CUSA
CUSA

Taking a stab at this, assuming MT/WKU/LT/UTSA all get eligible. I'm assuming UAB and FAU would not want to play in their home stadiums for a bowl game. I wouldn't.

Armed Forces - North Texas
New Mexico - UTSA
Boca Raton - FIU
Bahamas - FAU
New Orleans - USM
Gasparilla - UAB
Cure - WKU
Birmingham - MT
Heart of Dallas - LT
Independence - Marshall

I think overall, that'd be a very nice bowl schedule for the conference.

I could see this happening. Y'all would probably bring a ton of fans too. I am hoping we get the New Orleans Bowl. It would be on a Saturday and is an easy drive.

Unless Florida scheduled an additional game or gets a waiver due to the hurricane cancellation they will not get 6 wins as they only have 2 left so they are done already.

With those two resources, here are the extra bowl slots that will be open as well as the number of extra teams for each conference. In short, there are 78 teams projected to be eligible for 78 slots.

Open Slots
Frisco vs AAC (must be CUSA/MAC/SBC)
Belk vs ACC
Birmingham vs AAC
Independence vs ACC
Heart of Dallas vs B1G
Heart of Dallas vs B12
Quick Lane vs ACC
Quick Lane vs B1G
Cure vs SBC

Extra Teams
Pac12
Pac12
MWC
MAC
MAC
CUSA

Taking a stab at this, assuming MT/WKU/LT/UTSA all get eligible. I'm assuming UAB and FAU would not want to play in their home stadiums for a bowl game. I wouldn't.

Armed Forces - North Texas
New Mexico - UTSA
Boca Raton - FIU
Bahamas - FAU
New Orleans - USM
Gasparilla - UAB
Cure - WKU
Birmingham - MT
Heart of Dallas - LT
Independence - Marshall

I think overall, that'd be a very nice bowl schedule for the conference.

Its looking like FAU is going to win CUSA this season, if that's the case they get first pick and I doubt they will choose the Bahamas....

I realize it's comparing apples to oranges but USM won CUSA in 2011, went 11-2 (going into the bowl season), was ranked 18 or so and chose the Hawaii Bowl. Some of the rumored "circumstances" though was USM coaching staff (who had just taken the UNC job) wanted a trip to Hawaii moreso than the players along with not wanting to play Penn St in Dallas as Penn St was going through the Sandusky situation so USM didn't want all the attention on that....so to say FAU wouldn't choose the Bahamas could be a stretch.

Even if we were to assume that FAU would not want to play in our own stadium, why would we want to play in Bahamas if we could be playing in New Orleans?
