With almost 2 minutes left in the first half against a team we need to beat to go to the MACC and our offense hasn't been moving the ball well.

I don't understand the knees, but according to the play by play there was exactly one minute left, not "almost 2 minutes".

I love 'insert school name' and I am only worried about our next game. There is no truth to rumors that I am going to 'new school name'.
We have to make sure we have enough hotdogs in the west side concessions.

And wouldn't the offense struggling be more of a reason to take knees? lol

Without a doubt we need to run much better. The Huskies vs Ball st. totaled 45 carries for 222yds, a 4.9 ypc. Ball st.'s last 3 opponents combined avg. 39 carries for 272yds, a 6.8ypc. We've been decent, but not good enough.

Don’t completely agree; again, in this offense, the short passes are basically passing handoffs; and a byproduct of a running QB and a solid RB. The TD passes to Wineman and Huff were essentially running plays.

Still should be able to run for a better average against a team as bad as Ball State is this year.

To me it's not about just about the yards, its about the ability to manhandle the other teams front 7, Once you do that, things open up all over. And those short passes, the ones you consider basically run plays, hurt the running game. You bring the secondary up close and anything run to the outside has defenders closer.

Agree with you here; this is why competing a deep pass is so important, especially against good teams. Our inability to do this successfully has been the one missing link in this new (old) Huskie offense. Fortunately, our competition has been so inferior; or we have simply been lucky (BU, EMU), otherwise we would have had more losses at this point of the season. Toledo has been the only game where this has cost us a W.
Against CMU, and WM, I think we will need to complete a deep pass or two in both games to win.

They really need some new 15-20 yard routes. Forget the deep fly route. Just complete something deep enough to keep the secondary honest. I know the philosophy is to pull the defense up close with lateral passes, then pop them deep. But that ain't working with Marcus. It's killing me to see Tears and Blake as nothing more than observers in this offense.

And just like Bill Baker, neither of you remembered to give the score.
