Geez Little Rock. It is bad enough watching our football teams lose to FCS teams year after year but you didn't have to join the party of crappy loses in basketball.

Thought UTA was going to join the list of disappointing starts. They trailed Loyola Marymount by 13 with ten minutes left in the game. However, they finally figured it out defensively and won 85-80.

It is games like this that make it clear how important Jorge Bilbao was to the Mavs last year (and the year prior). Our interior D was suspect and we were outrebounded quite a bit.

This is also something to consider. Pretty sure we're now one of the 6 greatest college basketball teams of all time.

Loyola Marymount is pretty good, and they came to play.

I thought we were not playing well as a team for much of the game. Rebounding was atrocious for about 75 percent of the game. We are very beatable in the Sunbelt.

Finally poured it on at the end for the win against the WCC team. Very good-sized crowd was loud; student section was completely filled; glad we did not disappoint them and pulled-out an exciting win. The issue was in doubt until inside 1 minute.

I knew LMU was gonna be a tough game. We beat LMU last year at their home and I knew they wanted to return the favor. To me, we were clearly the better team but it took the last 5 minutes of the game for the score to reflect it.

GO MAVS! Champions know how to win even when not playing their best which is what happened. And LMU is a damn good team!!!

UALR needs to fire their coach asap ... I just found out they lost to OBU. Shame!

just shows anything can happen but certainly quiets those calls for more respect for sbc basketball. everybody has probably had a loss like that. just have to win one you werent supposed to to make up for it.

Not so fast. One school losing to lower level teams isn't that problematic .... every conference has at least one team that plays like they belong in a lower division. This year, it's looks like for men's basketball it's UALR.

UTA had a good win (also defeated Oklahoma last week), GS had a great win, Georgia State beat Georgia Tech in an exhibition ... things are still looking up.

It's early. . . . way too early to start reading the tea leaves and making inferences about how the conference will do

Give it a few weeks and things will start to sort themselves out . . .

This one was pretty close, nip and tuck [/align]until about the last 2 minutes of the half, when AF started to get some separation . . .

AF with 4 turnovers, TXST 14. . . . way too many if we want to stay in this game.

Good effort by the warhawks the last two games. Ran out of gas a bit at the end of this one, but I think we'll be a tough out. If we can finish games better then last year we'll be top half of the conference I think.

Very unlike a Danny Casper team. I am guessing they wont be turning the ball over that much as the season goes along.

They just moved up and made D1 NCAA and won their league last year.
