Honestly, it seems Franklin does best when he is the only back available, and gets a lot of carries. I really like when we used to throw to him, which we haven't done nearly as much this year. He has good hands for a RB, and with a little space allowing him to get the freight train moving, the guy can gain a bunch. I think we will still be fine in the backfield. The new QB can run too, and although hasn't impressed with his arm, does seem to run the ball with some toughness, and even in the limited snaps we have been able to watch him so far he has had several plays where defenders have seemingly had him for a sack, and he pulled out of it. I think he would do well with some plays designed from the beginning for him to run. That would take some focus off Franklin.

Agree 100 percent about throwing to JF!

Rather than having our true freshman QB throw long, low percentage, passes (several of which were dropped and one intercepted), why not swing the RB with good catching hands into space? Could have made a difference in two close games - CMU would have had no answer, and MSU's LB's (particularly Frey) can't cover or tackle well in open space.

The screen pass is our friend. If the other teams sniffs it out, it's usually just an incomplete pass. It will lessen the pressure on the freshman QB. Jarvion is a beast. Throw some to Dee too.

Johns has a screen in the playbook! I've seen it! He can't pretend he doesn't like Cubit and Ciarrocca! 05-nono

Im anxious for the Kent game if for no other reason than to see what WMU has withh Falcon!!!! I wonder can he be a weapon with the screen pass. What can he do against NI and Toledo?

I wonder who we have behind Falcon... god forbid we lose either Falcon or Franklin going forward... Walker? Ekwoge ( who I believe has to sit the first half of the Kent game due to the targeting in the CMU game)... we are down to only FOUR running backs on the roster that are healthy... and Walker is a redshirt I believe... would hate to have to burn that this late in the season. I have to wonder if they leverage Eskridge in the running game a bit more like we used to use Braverman....

One of Terrell's worst 3 decisions in his career was a screen pass.

I don’t think we need to burn Walker’s redshirt if Falcon misses time.

We’d still have Ekwoge and Eskridge.

Agree 100% about Walker.

Franklin can go 300+ vs. Kent but I’d rather see Franklin and Falcon split time.

Huh, I don't remember that one. Do you remember which game?

It might've been NIU. I just remember we were on the come (like in the Cotton Bowl), and that screen pass turned into an easy pick 6.
