CFP sites 2021-2024: Miami, Indy, LA, Houston
A different location for the finals in each of the first 10 seasons of the CFP. And the first cold-weather location is among these new sites.

Quote:"We're delighted that we're able to complete our goal of 10 in 10," College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock said Wednesday. "The first 10 College Football Playoff championship games will be played in 10 different cities."

Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens will host the 2021 title game, after the 2020 season. Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis will be the first cold-weather site for the championship in 2022.
Quote:The new stadium in Southern California that will be the home of the NFL's Rams and Chargers will be the site of the 2023 national title game followed the next year by NRG Stadium in Houston.

I'd like to see a site that provides a real cold-weather national championship game, like Chicago, New York, or Seattle.

This shuts down any playoff expansion before 2026, or at best makes it more complicated.

It appears to lock down the date and location of the championship game - but that was always going to be at a neutral site anyway, IMO. You might conclude that if the playoffs expand, the quarterfinals would have to be held before Christmas - again, a strong possibility anyway.

All that being said, change is slow in college football, so 2026 might be about right...

As much as I'd love to see the game played in real conditions (like at Lambeau), it ain't gonna happen.

Buy, if they're going to have domed stadiums for venues, I'd like to nominate US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. They may not play n the cold, but let's see how the Southerners react to below zero and a foot of snow.

Yeah, it's kinda a deek move, but funny....

Football gave up on real conditions when they started playing on carpet instead of grass. 07-coffee3

They've pretty much hit all the logical sites. In 10 years they hit each of the Big 6 bowl cities (although they are in Inglewood instead of the Rose Bowl), Tampa, San Francisco, Indianapolis and Houston.

San Antonio and Orlando's stadiums may not meet the requirements. They are marginal. I don't see them in any hurry to put the game in Minneapolis or Detroit. Maybe Charlotte and Jacksonville get 2025 and 2026.

Yeah they had the Frozen 4 in Florida so lets bring football to Minneapolis. On a serious note, US Bank is a beautiful stadium and would be a worthy host. Downtown Minneapolis is mostly connected via skyways so it isn't like people have to be outside a ton...they are making it work for the Super Bowl.

I'd love to see the Badgers play for a title here in the Twin Cities...would be a crazy atmosphere.
