So, I was on the Troy athletic website checking on the soccer score, and I was greeted with this advertisement

TAKE A KID TO THE GAME NIGHT! ALL KIDS 12 AND UNDER ADMITTED FREE WITH A PAID ADULT THURSDAY NIGHT! CONTACT THE TROY TICKET OFFICE FOR MORE INFORMATION

So...I have to ask. Did your athletic department really run their "take a kid to the game" promotion for an 8:15 start on a Thursday Night?

The second question is: Do your marketing people understand that the majority of kids 12 and under will be in bed by 9:00 that night since its a school night.

The third question is: Was "Take your kid to the game, and let them skip school the next day" not a possible promotion, or was it not PC enough for the advert?

Most likely many people won't come because of the late start. And Troy is offering free admission because most won't stay the entire game. Troy is a traveling fan base. Most travel well over an hour. A lame duck Idaho game mid week will kill attendance.

Neither do I, unfortunately, but I'm holding out hope that their solid performance against ULM on Saturday means they're figuring a few things out. When Linehan gets time to throw he can pick a defense apart -- 360 yards and conference POTW last week. I just don't think he'll get the time.
