On what basis would a guy like Bloomgren FAIL if hired? The guy has a proven track record of success

what? Georgia Southern would be lucky to have Bloomgren. This guy should be a HC in AAC or better. His resume is way better than either Bohannon or Davis. Bloomgren was a pretty darn good OC in the NFL and P5..and won heck a lot of games for Stanford since 2011.

Some people live and die by the flex. I think they flex in their parents living room with those massive mirrors and Calvin Klein underwear. They flex until they get the results they desire

What will he BUST when Houston says no thank you?

Don’t get me wrong, Houston is an outstanding candidate but not everyone wants the Boro.

Not quite sure why he’d say no thanks if he’s looking to advance his career. He’s already won the highest award of that subdivision plus he has a lot of talent leaving this year. Don’t know what Statesboro has to do with it, bigger school and equally sized town to the one he’s already at.

Lol, I am a proven HC guy. Not mesmerized by a letter and a number combo or thinks because an OC is on a team with a offensive HC his track record is nothing more than a guess. There is a reason Saban curb stomps all his former assistants because it was more him than them. Nothing has changed much since Bloomgren took the OC job same results as the previous guy and probably having his worse year this year. Not big on going pro fighting over the bare bones scraps of pro style recruit left overs. We will never compete on size at this level we need a offense based on speed over size that does not have to be the flex.

Also relatable side note, the last HC that came from a FCS school with a resume of success just beat Houston has improved over last year and will go bowling with one more win. I get excited over a 25-1 record at JMU not the P5 label.

Coached in Hickory NC and played at Mars Hill I am not getting he is worried about a teams location much.

No idea where that's coming from. I've looked on their site and Twitter and seen nothing about it.

Friend posted a screen capture of it. I also tried finding it on their website, but no luck. Fake news or not it is really the longest of long shots. Just wondering how GS and other fans felt if somehow it happened.

They did not report that a guy inferred it with a tweet from the Football Scoop report that had no mention of GS just that another school has contacted him, I would guess TXAM. There is ZERO possibility of landing him and if our AD wasted a second asking him that was a wasted second. UF and or UCLA is going to pay him 4M+/- at minimum. UF would likely can go 7M+/- if they really want him. If it is a bidding war UF likely wins I think maybe would could go 1M his bonuses for winning will be more than that.

Houston
Brent Davis

I get that he is a candidate but dont get the over the top love for Bohannon, especially over Houston or even Davis for that matter.

I scratched the surface on his decent run. Just about all the wins except the last one are sketchy mostly against lower division team and or flat out horrible teams. Some of the lower division teams I dont thing are even DIV II.

Lets not make it out like he started a program in Indiana and had to play his first two years in a high school stadium. He is one of the most talent rich areas in the country and was handed a top notch FCS stadium and facilities day one.

Concerning this year, I dont think it is a coincidence that CCU and Chadwell leaving the Big South coincided with KSU winning the conference this year. Also they had one of the worst strengths of schedule in all of the FCS.

He is 24-9 and maybe 4 of the wins are against decent or better FCS teams and that is debatable. His record is a paper tiger for the most part. He just went 10-1 won the conference and could not even get seated. He has to play a second place SoCon 8-3 Samford in the first round that already beat him this year.

FootballScoop said a third University has contacted Chip’s representatives “should an opening come available” so that’s not us. Schulz on twitter then said he would look good in Statesboro. I don’t think the two are related.

Bohannon is 24-9 how many of those wins were not against lower division as low as NAIA ,really bad and or losing FCS programs.

Starting a program from scratch is not an easy task. Being the first HC there and building into a playoff team in 3 years is still very impressive.

To put it into perspective, Ga State just down the road took 8 years to win 26 games, and he's in his 3rd and has won 24.

Talent pool is the same, it's just what good coaching can do to a program, and starting it from scratch makes it even more impressive.

I'd rather take him over BD, who has no HC experience.
