The only problem with FAU is they are a less consistent Toledo. They have a really good QB and can score A TON. I'd rather play a low scoring team that turns into a defensive battle given that I think our defense stacks up with anyone's and we can win a game like that.

FAU - is that Scott Frost's team?
I don't want to hear about Nebraska the whole telecast.

Scott Frost coaches UCF. They'll be in the Peach Bowl.

That's like asking Jim Mora to talk about playoffs.

no link - you know where to find it.

We do not have to go to the MCC to get to a bowl game. Just ask the Toledo fans. They know how that works.

Have any bowl projections at this point in the season ever been correct? I mean, they're just guessing.

Not just '05: '10,'11,'12,'14,'15,'16. Toledo went to bowl games in all of those seasons without stopping in Detroit first. In '10 their bowl game was in Detroit.

FAU looks good so far against Marshall. I might be changing my mind about playing them.

Let's see...out of the country or middle of nowhere and cold. Or Dallas. I'll take Frisco Bowl, played at Toyota Stadium (Not to be confused with Toyota Park, home of the Chicago Fire) home of FC Dallas.

May actually be a hard ticket if they played Houston see it holds about 20k. 18k for them, 2k for NIU.

I hope one day soon Indy or Stl gets some bowl to tie #1 or #2 MAC vs. a low end B10 or B12. One would think Stl with no NFL team would try something, if only short term.

Whatever happened to Wrigley getting a bowl game? Wasn’t when the bullpens got moved that would free up enough space. No poinsettia bowl this year so when does the moratorium end and they can add another game?
2020. That would be fun.

RE: NIU Bowl Projections
Bringing this thread back since it looks like the other bowl thread has officially gone of the tracks.

With the Miami Bowl folding this year, the MAC is down to four primary games and a couple secondaries.

Dollar General vs Sun Belt
Camellia Bowl vs Sun Belt
Potato Bowl vs Mountain West
Bahamas Bowl vs Conference USA

Boca Raton Bowl (secondary)
Quick Lane Bowl (secondary)

Seems like there is also a chance the MAC could get a team into the new Frisco Bowl which replaced Miami depending on how other match-ups shake out. I have also seen some projections that include a MAC team in the Independence Bowl as most are projecting a shortfall from one and potentially both primary conferences (SEC vs ACC).

Yep save your money for the P5 schedule next non-conf season

Bowls are complete garbage, Id love for the athletes to have the holiday season to themselves instead of making them play these exhibition games. Unless the bowl format is reformatted to have regular season accomplishment translate into post-season meaning, the bowl games should be eliminated.

Half the games are against the Sun Belt and one of the games is out of the country. The current post season lineup is just another example of how the MAC has been pushed further to the back of the line in FBS relevance. The Motor City / Little Caesars and GMAC used to be great bowl games with quality opponents. Even the International Bowl offered better opponents than the current line-up. More tie-ins these days but nowhere near the quality of games as there once was.
All bowls are horrible. Every conference. The only bowls that mean anything are the New Years six There is at least some accomplishment tied in with those. All the rest represent equal opportunity garbage. It's not a matter of MAC in lower position , they all really are meaningless. Good thing is MAC has separated itself from other G5s with great representation as best G5 conference since NIUs orange bowl and WMU

This of course isn’t true, HuskieTap you are correct, the MAC bowl ties are garbage. Just another failure for the worst conference in FBS football.

They are all equally as bad and at least MAC has been frequent participator in only ones that matter. I'll tell you this committee has just about ruined it though. For them to try and cram every big 10 team into the top 25 is comical , and people are understanding the corruption now
