For some reason people have a hard on for San Antonio Community College on this board.
I think UAB has a solid shot at beating them this year. Y'all have a good team.
calm down South Oklahoma University of the Fine Arts, yall havent done **** either.
Well, we beat the University of Texas- Suspicious Accreditation
LOL. This reminds me of the guy in the student section who kept calling us "UT Sorta Kinda" at the game. Let's hope he never has to teach spelling.
I don't know what the guy that you're referring to said, but the correct title is "UT Sorta Almost."

Yes, I'm aware of the "UT Sorta Almost" joke. Which is why it was so funny that he was so proud of himself every time he stung us with "UT Sorta Kinda".

Yup, that's it. Devastating trash talk.

Those are exactly the kind of things that make schools hate each other. TCU/SMU are more or less the exact same school. The main thing you guys are missing right now is both being competitive at the same time. Then you will start battling for the same recruits. Same state/conference/division is tailor made to start bad blood as soon as your programs both have up years at the same time.

Hating your rival doesn't really soften the hate of everyone else in your state. Who in Texas doesn't hate UT and aTm?

Well, TCU and SMU have religious identities that may or may not fully overlap, which leads to student bodies being able to distinguish each other by factors other than the diploma. FAU and FIU are both reasonably large, relatively recently founded state schools, with somewhat similar ethnic, religious, and even political make up.
Oh, we even started playing football a year apart from each other...

RE: Power Ratings - Week #7
I suppose I will add my two cents to this mess. First, this is perhaps the worst performing ODU team in the Monarchs short history. The tendency is to blame injuries, O-line play, freshman QB, receiver problems, all of which are true. But it is the ability to overcome these short comings that makes a team good or even great. Unfortunately for Monarch fans, that just is not the case. I am not one that likes to complain, but this year has been particularly disheartening to this point.
Second, regarding UTSA. I do not hate the Runners, but from the get-go this year I have questioned the high regard in which they have been held, in my opinion with no real reason for it. They have three wins -- over 0-6 Baylor, 3-3 FCS Southern and 1-6 Texas State. Simply put, I have believed (and still do) that they are overrated. That said, their schedule is favorable and their next four games at this point have to be considered very winnable. They may well wind up with seven or so wins and in a bowl game, and with their schedule, they should. But, at least at this point, they have not earned the right to be considered a title contender or top tier C-USA team. No hate -- just my take.

The red above is the real culprit. Up until this year the Shula bowl hasnt meant squat for the conference race. Its always been one is up and the other down, or both down. Never have both schools played each other when the winner makes a difference. it is shaping up that THIS could be the year that the Shula Bowl finally has meaning other then pride.

Cheer up buttercup. Maybe you guys can reschedule that game with Houston now that your 11-0 pipedream is just that.
y'all barely beat us... by 3 points. If that makes us trash, then y'all are raw sewage. Y'all had one winning season in the last 10 years... ONE, UNO, UN. Thats some high quality history y'all have. Must be proud. I would say act like y'all been there before... but who are we kidding??? Yall are rarely there.
Question...why does this d*mbf*ck get to attach his "Greatest Liberal Meltdown" hyperlink in his sig? Thought there were rules about politics being in the football forum?
For an actual answer, there is a very popular forum here called the spin room. It's a political forum. If you wear a signature for that forum it will also show up on this forum and every other forum here, just like sports sigs show up there.
Now, as to how you let a political signature that you are free to ignore trigger you into yet another liberal meltdown, I couldn't say. But you can turn off signatures in your settings so you don't see anyone's sig. In fact, you can block a poster that has one and never see anything they write at all. But I guess the best way was to show a staggering amount of ignorance on how the board and policies work by just leading with a stick of dynamite to kill a fly.
Speaking of a stick of dynamite to kill a fly, was posting the same reply 4 times necessary? Was there, perhaps, a time, sometime between the third and fourth reply where you may have thought: "Maybe I shouldn't?... yes I should!"?
Or perhaps the site wasn't loading and I kept refreshing to try to get it to load and it reposted each time I refreshed. Couldn't get back on while at work to see if it posted and went to bed after. They're all deleted. Conclusion jump much?

RE: Power Ratings - Week #7
Holding onto our coaches could make for a MUCH better 2018.
UNT, USM, La Tech, Marshall, UAB, FIU, and FAU have good reason for further optimism. UTSA, ODU, WKU, and MTU will be solid, though maybe transitioning. And UTEP, Rice, and Charlotte will hopefully have new leadership.

I’ve felt the exact same way. UNT didn’t get any preseason/early season love, but I expected that because we hadn’t earned it. Going 5-7 was an improvement compared to the year before, but it doesn’t show anyone that we’re a title contender. So I never understood why UTSA was held in such high regard after going 6-6 last year and before they had won anything of significance this year. Not saying whether they’re good or bad, but some people were so high on them with no good reason.

1. Marshall
2-6: WKU, USM, Tech, FAU, UNT
7-10: MTSU, UAB, FIU
11-12: Rice, ODU
13-14: Charlotte, UTEP
Last couple of years there has been a clear separation between the top teams and the middle/bottom teams but not this year. This is why I grouped the rankings. Any one of the teams could win or lose, no blow outs like last year.
Look at the parity of the games this year. anyone of these games could have gone either way, no clear separation:
UNT 46 - 43 UAB
UNT 29 - 26 UTSA
USM 31 - 29 UTSA
Tech 23 - 22 WKU
UAB 23 - 22 Tech
