Everything is starting to clear up now, we are getting a real good picture of how these conference teams should be ranked. Well don't hire someone to engrave that in stone for ya.

This is Conference USA, I bet at least one of the stinkers win, there will be one or two who should easily win who do not come through, and of course a projected loser who absolutely looks like the best team in the G5 and pulls off a victory.

UTSA should be no higher than 10th. Hang around for 3 quarters and you'll beat us in the 4th because we'll choke 75% of the time. Our coaches are too dumb to make the right calls in tight finishes, and our players aren't good enough to overcome our coaches' poor decisions.

Yes I put Western in that bag of 4 and the reason I did....this team has more room to grow on offense than any team in the conference. It's not talent and its not QB. It's all on coaches changing the play calling. I honestly don't see that happening but the offensive talent is there if a light bulb goes on.

As bad as Western's offense has looked this team is a last second fg away from being 5-1...awful easy schedule plays into that. But if we are being honest not many teams in this conference are much better than the teams Western played....

any power rankings that puts FIU in the top 70 is a joke

Good teams find ways to finish games and win, bad teams find ways to make excuses for losing. This offensive system is setup to maximize the number of explosive plays. So if execution of the system is lucky then I want to be lucky every game.

Our FL schools answered the call and made investments to improve their FB programs, and improve they did.

By the way, UTSA didn't just hand that touchdown to North Texas. Mason Fine made the right reads and throws. Our team earned that win. Luck had nothing to do with it. I've said it before... some might slow down our offense, but no one in C-USA can stop it.

I think it is a great benefit to our conference (at this stage) that we have 7-8 teams who could legitimately say that they have a realistic chance to get into the championship game. I, honestly, discount Rice's chances right now, even though, theoretically they are in it, too.

9) MTSU: Injuries suck.
10) FIU: Better... kinda.

I won't question your ratings, because I would also out UNT at #1 based on my own reservations of The Herd, mainly our inconsistent offense and I'm curious if our secondary can handle some of the passing attacks we will face down the stretch as it has been about a month since they've been legitimately tested.

But, I will argue that you have the best WR in conference, I do believe he wears green and white though. And I think FAU fans may argue on your point about the best RB lol

I'm not sure, I was told by a JMU fan the other day that since I don't have 35+ years of football watching experience, I am an ignoramus. I am paraphrasing. But I think the team that scores the most points wins the game. Dunno. Need another 20 years of watching before I can confirm.

Last weeks' action was mostly devoid of the upsets of the prior period.

(#) My prior week ratings

1. Marshall (1) - Still best overall record in CUSA, but has yet to play a first division league team.
2. NT (2) - Going 98 yards in less than a minute to win is a lot more than luck. NT hangs on to second.
3. USM (3) - Took care of business with shutout of UTEP.
4. FAU (4) - Idle, leaves them at four.
5. UAB (5) - Successful battle with MTSU keeps their place.
6. La Tech (6) - Idle, to think about that loss to UAB.
7. UTSA (7) - Conference record won't move them up. This is obviously not as great a team as they were touted with an undefeated league record. Neither is it as bad as 0-2 in CUSA might indicate. This team will move up.
8. WKU (9) - Easy victory over hapless Charlotte. No your QB should not have got offensive POW.
9. MTSU (8) - Lost tough game vs surprising UAB. Running out of time to get QB Stockstill back.
10. FIU (11) - Very good oc win for the program and conference.
11. ODU (10) - Best of the bottom tier.
12. Rice (11) - Idle moves them up one
13. UTEP (14) - Winless, but showing signs of improvement
14. Charlotte (13) - Blasted by middle of conference WKU

Having Mason Fine and his will to win to go along with great coaching is a difference maker. At this point teams could move as much as 6 places from current standings by years end.
