I can only imagine the angst on Hawk Talk after finding yet another creative way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Heartbreaking (not!).

That actually happened in a Bengals Oilers game in the mid 80's. Bengals got the ball back with 45 seconds and went right down the field and scored a game winning TD. Brooks had a couple of monster catches and runs.

You the man! Kinnebrew fumbled down on the goal line. Would have put Bengals up 31-21. Brooks ran over 2 guys on his TD, pound for pound he was a freak.

The SOS will drop precipitously the last few weeks of the season.

The Foreskins could be 6-1, should be 5-2 or at least 4-3 but are 2-5. LMAO!

It really has been freak accidents keeping them from a pretty damn good season. Not really coaching on the BGSU loss, the Cincinnati loss was a blown lead for the history books, Marshall returned 2 KOs for TD (only happen 2 other times this decade), and Kent State was just a comedy of errors.

Apparently Ragland is now injured and won't be available against Buffalo this weekend. Miami very likely to fall to 2-6 this weekend.

On one hand, I always enjoy it when Miami loses. But on the other hand, it's always in the back of my mind that if not for a complete meltdown on their part they would have beaten us. We should have lost to a bottom tier MAC team.

its incredible to me each of the last several years you see fans on news sites saying we've outgrown the rivalry and need to drop them! seriously we aren't too good for anybody right now and we need the win! a win we've barely been eeking out

God bless the folks that are actually watching these games. Luckily I was at a wedding last night, and checking the score about 3 or 4 times was all the viewing I needed.

Is anybody seeing anything? Any improvement? Sounds like our kicker might be competent now.

What, if anything, should we hope to see improve by the end of the year? I would love to see us put something together and pull off an upset against Temple or somebody, just to gain confidence going into the off season.

Luckily the hoops team might be pretty good this year and that's right around the corner.

i have only caught bits and pieces of the football Bearcats because of my work travel. i listened to part of the game today and cannot express my disappointment in explicit enough terms. i can understand the lack of talent, and how that makes productivity on the field a near impossibility this season, and maybe next season. it seems like few or no adjustments are being made by the coaching staff, and that there is a lack of mental discipline, as represented by the gross amount of penalties, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

The title of this thread "Is anybody seeing any light in the tunnel?" As the football season comes to a close, my short answer is definitively no.

The answer is an emphatic and resounding NO...I understand the cupboard being bare, but if Luke Fickell was truly trying his best to make the best of what he had this year then he gets an F-----

It's the end of the road for this season and I'm seeing few signs of improvement. Enough with blaming the old staff. This current staff has been a YUGE disappointment in year one.

Really hard narrative to sell to those on the edge of joining our program

RE: Is anybody seeing any light in the tunnel?
I think at a program like UC, it really comes down to getting the 'right' guy to lead the program....and I think if we would have hired the 'right' guy, we wouldn't all be freaking out like we are now. Not that Fickell couldn't be a good head ball coach somewhere, I just worry about his ability to get the most out of his guys.

Schedule was tough, yes...but this is the freaking AAC East for crying out loud.

I don't know, are the players just that bad or is it the staff?
That's equally depressing and hilarious. I do know this much, the talent is pretty lacking on the roster.
