I had a friend cruise through it as well. He's been employed by the Secret Service since graduating. Guess it's not that bad.

Yep. Know someone who was an officer in the USMC, joined the FBI, obtained his law degree and is now a managing partner at a large law firm. Pretty smart guy.

That’s exactly what I thought.

I’m so disgusted with the NCAA.

I took advantage of some easy elective credit hours as well Kenyon, Pete, Ryan and a few other basketball players. There were a couple tests and the questions were kinda like: The desert is hot. True or False. The Rain forest is wet. True or False. Of course the professor offered extra credit and the only people that needed it were Kenyon, Pete and Fletch. Fun class though got to walk through the zoo at night. Attendance optional, of course.

I think there were other classes like this at UC. Apparently most of the courses in th Criminal Justice major...

What UNC did was more than just provide easy classes. Every school has them. This went far beyond what you described above.

Uhm except not according to that article from cbssports and not according to the NCAA. Your opinion and a buck will snag you a Snickers bar from the vending machine. Don't be hangry.

This is a serious question. What exactly does the NCAA do? They seem completely unnecessary at this point where the conferences seem to do everything themselves anyways.

Seems like if they don't have jurisdiction over matters involving the validity of classes taken by and credited to athletes who have to meet a particular grade average to participate, they are not in a position to regulate adherence to the rules in place nor are they in a position to protect student athletes.

So not much. Seems like the FBI and college accreditation boards are better equipped and more willing to take action than the NCAA. They haven't really done us any favors and seem to be bent on elevating certain programs with a pedigree at the expense at other programs, some of which represent college athletics and academics far better than their P5 counterparts.

I say abolish them and let the P5 schools worry about breaking off into a separate entity and all the legal and tax-related matters that go with paying players. If UC wants to join, they'll have no grounds to exclude them if they're willing to pay the price. If not, I'm sure ESPN subscribers will get tired of watching the blue bloods play each other over and over again since no one else will be able to afford it.

With every new violation and development, collegiate athletics seem to be hurtling towards extinction (as we know it, anyways).

DIDNT surprise me a bit. Ncaa has usually protected the schools that bring in a lot of money to the organization. Kentucky, Duke, UCLA, North Carolina, sometimes Louisville and in football, Notre Dame and Alabama.

Surprised? No. Have I watched a football game outside OU and UC this year or will I? No too. Vote with your pocket.
