Essential P5 Rivalries
Which rivalries are the most essential to CFB. These rivalries don't depend on length of time but about the hated each team and fan base has for each other. Lets vote and see who ends up on top.

Yes, many of these aren't played anymore or not often. I'm just trying to find out which one is the most essential to college football.

Have I inspired you? 03-wink

You might want to try this over, though. You didn't allow for multiple choice.

They all make college football better. But none of them are essential. Aside from fans in Texas, how many people give a minute's thought anymore that the Horns and Aggies stopped playing each other?

Hard to pick just one.

Being a fan of college football, I'd say the games that are "must see" every year would be.....

Michigan - tOSU
Alabama - Auburn
OK - TX
Army - Navy
ND - USC

My two cents, and I'm sure many will think it's not even worth that.

South Carolina/Clemson deserves to be much higher on this list.

Many of those aren't played anymore. Some weren't played for decades (for example Alabama-Auburn). Auburn and Georgia have played each other more than Alabama or Florida.

The 5 most played per Wiki are:
Wisconsin-Minnesota 127 60-59-8
UNC-UVA 122 63-55-4
Miami-Cincinnati 121 59-56-7
Georgia-Auburn 121 57-56-8
Oregon-Oregon St. 121 64-47-10

Numbers 6 to 10 include 3 series that are no longer played due to Big 12 defections.
