Big New Score Board Screen
What good does it do to have this giant score board screen and they don't show re-plays... Instead of showing re-plays they showed the crowd..

Also,,, no scores of other games..... Was is up with that....

RE: Big New Score Board Screen
It's horribly set up. Fans in the upper deck on the 40 yard line and closer can't see/read the far end of the score board.
Of course if the offense is as pathetic as now,,who needs replays????

You won't see any that are controversial. Didn't on the old scoreboard either. I suspect the NCAA &/or AAC don't allow it. Just one more reason to watch at home...

You are correct in saying they only show non-controversial replays. This is an NCAA rule, IIRC. I've been to games at other stadiums across the country and have noticed they do not show the controversial replays.

In some environments if they show a replay where the refs made the wrong call against the home team a riot would break out.

Can only hope they are still in the learning curve process from a production standpoint. I expect next season will be much different, hopefully will see steady improvement the remainder of this season as well.

RE: Big New Score Board Screen
I hate the part of the screen where they give the down and yardage and the score.

What's up with that teal/gray background?

And the type is so small for the timeouts I can barely read it from 117 and I have eagle vision when I have my contacts in.

Showing fans got kind of annoying after awhile.

I actually think the audio has been better this year. I can actually understand the ref.

RE: Big New Score Board Screen
I would recommend that people who have complaints about what's shown on the scoreboard to e-mail their concerns to Bohn. He's actually pretty responsive to stuff like this because it behooves the program to provide a good fan experience.
BTW, I agree that they show the fans in the stands way too much. It's just bizarre to see people mugging like a bunch of clowns for the camera when the team is down by double digits.

And if showing fans in the stands is how you fill time what will you put up there when they decide to stay home or leave early because the home team is getting beat down?

Showing highlights from the past would be nice — we could use a little Mardy, Barwin, Celek, Kelce, Binns, Hawkins, Mickens highlights etc to lift the crowd. Although it could backfire in reminding those who do still show up what UC football once was...

Just before we left in the 3rd quarter I saw this on the scoreboard and thought if they put me on camera I'd just shake my head with a disgusted look on my face.

RE: Big New Score Board Screen
These are all legitimate concerns about the new board and UC Athletics should respond. When the type size is too small or the background is too low in contrast to the text presented, it really defeats the purpose of a bigger scoreboard altogether.

I don't mind them doing crowd shots during long timeouts and tv timeouts, but it seemed like they would do it in between plays while the game was going on. That's just lame.

I have noticed the fact that there was no other game scores. What the heck?? most peoples phone cant get service to check scores either. Very disappointed and very unusual not to see scores...and who ever the announcer was is awful. If I had to hear "to the marker" one more time..... Terrible!!

It's silly.. good bad or otherwise, when I go to Alabama games they show every play on replay regardless of whether there are flags or not.

Betting more hooch per capita is consumed in that stadium than in ones that serve beer. 03-wink

They did show some scores at the last game,,, but mostly AAC scores... Need more top 20 scores.. And,, if you are going to put 12 scores on one screen shot,,, leave it up there long enough to read it...
Also,,,, need more replays......
