Idaho at South Alabama Game Thread
The Jags coming off a 45-0 win over Div. 1-AA Alabama A&M, will host the Idaho Vandals at Ladd-Peebles Stadium at 1:00 PM. This should be a hard fought game between two middle-of-the-conference schools to be streamed on ESPN3.

It is going to be a hot one! Should be a good game.

Line opened at Jags by 4 but has moved to 3 1/2.

We've stayed fairly healthy so far. How are you guys doing on injuries?

Don't let yourself get too emotional. This poster has little to no love for the Jaguars.03-lmfao

I feel like this is a swing game for both teams. Good chance the winner goes bowling and the loser stays at home.

I just spent 5 days driving through Idaho and Wyoming. I flew into New Orleans on my return yesterday. It is unbelievable how the heat and humidity down here feels after being away from it for only a short period. I know Idaho's players must struggle with it when they play down here. I give USA an edge in this game based simply on this factor.

And the edge goes to Idaho when you make the long trip this way with our efficiently air conditioned facility. You don't want none of the Kibbie Dome.

I'd agree with you but weirdly, we've done pretty well down south the past couple years. Last year we were 2-0 in Louisiana and in 2015 an inferior Idaho team beat Troy in Troy, damn near beat USA, and hung tough @Auburn. So I have no idea what we're going to see Saturday.

Any guesses on how many Vandal fans make the trip to Mobile?

That is a long trip. I would assume most Vandal fans would be related to players, and I would set the over/under at 50. I mean, how many USA fans would go to Moscow?

I hope our secondary hangs in there, injuries are starting to mount up especially for secondary. Not sure if playing 1 pm here will hurt both teams besides being hot for fans in the attendance. Wish the game would have been late afternoon or at night.

I agree. It's too hot in the deep south to play afternoon football games in September. That heat is tough on everybody, and it keeps a lot of the casual fans from showing up.

Only one major Idaho injury -- starting safety Denzal Brantley unfortunately looks to be out for the year. A few guys who missed the last couple games are back for this one.

Idaho has been terrible on opening drives this year. 4 games, zero points, two 3-and-outs and today's fumble on their own 28. USA capitalizes on the short field and it's quickly 7-0.

Long Idaho drive stalls in the red zone and it's 7-3 USA halfway through the 1st. USA DBs are getting some nice clean hard shots in on our receivers, leading to a few drops.

USA has their own long drive that stalls in the red zone and it's 10-3 Jags.

I think I like these Idaho helmets better than the typical look.

Nice catch by Idaho on the last play of the first quarter.
