The weather has worked out, as the high temperatures in Miami and Toledo are pretty close. So no big adjustment to humid air needed when they step off the plane.
You can say that, but in reality Florida is ALWAYS humid and with temps in the low 90's it will be miserable on the field.

Suppose to get some rain Saturday afternoon.
Nothing could be worse than the heat and humidity in Ben Hill Griffin.

Hopefully we end up with enough hydrated players to finish the game.

RE: Miami Predictions and banter
current weather predictions are hot and very humid with windy gusty conditions. 100% chance of moist weather 40% chance of a brief passing thunderstorm. maximum dehydration conditions. As long as staff rotates players enough early in the game, and keeps them well hydrated, we could have a conditioning advantage as they haven't played game conditions for a few weeks. like our chances in a close game. will need to be even or ahead in kicking, returns, turnovers and penalties side of the game. our defense will need to have enough good moments to keep us close and our offensive line will have to battle and give the passing game enough time to bust big plays (either through good pass protection or making enough holes and push for a run game to keep the canes secondary honest). we ar clearly capable of those things, just gotta do them saturday. rocket teams have been routinely competitive vs ranked and good P5 teams. i feel this is an offense that can take advantage of its opportunities and put up points.

That game at UF a few years back was BRUTAL. My friend has season tickets to the Gators and his seats normally have shade......for a 3:30 pm game. They decided to kickoff at noon.....in August....in Florida. I personally drank 6 beverages as did my wife.

It is not a dome. The Dolphins added cover directly over all the seats in the stadium. They also removed seats in the corners of the upper deck which allows an actual breeze to come through now. It is not exactly comfortable, but being in the shade in South Florida is much preferred over not being in shade.

Fun fact, the lower bowl seats on the visitors side (North side) get sun for almost the entire first half. Fortunately, the tickets that we got from friends are in the upper deck on the North side and will be shaded.

I went to the Swamp when the Broncos opened the 1999 season there (our QB then is our current HC now). Yeah, schweaty balls everywhere, and made the dopey decision to wear my WMU hockey jersey. 03-drunk

Anyhow, back to my original point, hopefully you guys practicing in 80s/humid this week helped you prep a little better than if it was 60s/crisp.

Not sure what to expect from your game as it's hard to judge Miami's collective head at the moment: rusty from being off and distracted for a couple weeks, or charging in with a "bring the community together" vibe?

Yeah, do not wear a jersey to a day game in Florida until December. LOL

Agree with you on not knowing what to expect. The Canes would have been hyped up to face FSU and then had a huge letdown. I can't see them getting fired up to face a Toledo team that none of them have ever faced before. I think the one negative for UT is that Miami has had nothing to do but prepare for Toledo, so I expect them to have a good game plan and be focused for the Rockets.

Heh, thing is, I should've known better. Lived in FL from 1994-1996 right after college.

Hottest game I ever attended was 3 weeks ago at USC. Dressed more wisely.

Didn't they have 100 degree temps that week?

I am not yet convinced that this year's O-line is up to the high standards set by the 2015 line that stood up to Arkansas or 2013 line that got Fluellen 200 yards (receiving plus rushing) against Missouri. Obviously RBs have problems when there are no holes and QBs, regardless of who they are, have trouble throwing if they are scrambling for their life or getting knocked flat on their back. I doubt that Miami's offense is going to be as good as (and certainly no than better than) Tulsa's offense but their defense is going to be a LOT, LOT better if you believe their press clippings.

All my concerns as well. Add on the the penalty bug-a-boo. I don't see us cleaning that up in one week--especially against a team who will pressure us as Miami will.

I don't know...I think Miami is going to be looking to make a statement. 55-27 maybe.

Have you been hanging out on the Miami Boards? It will be closer than that. Should be a good game.

RE: Miami Predictions and banter
I'm thinking Miami wins by 20+, but the game on the field will be closer than that for a good chunk of it. Rockets will acquit themselves well against the #14 team. Challenges I see are a D that still struggles to tackle (which makes any offense better) and an O line that will take some key penalties in their effort to keep Woodside protected, causing some drives to stall. If I thought Miami would come out flat & rusty, I might be tempted tp pick the upset--but, given what they've been through & not being able to play Fla State as scheduled, I think they will in no way overlook us.

Adeniyi was hurt in the Tulsa game but came back in and didn't show any signs of an injury. Not sure - but I don't think Skipper played at all. Had wondered about him not playing but have not seen anything to indicate why he did not play. At least I never saw him in the game and it didn't catch my attention until late in the 2nd quarter that he was not in the line-up. May have been hurt early and I didn't see it.

Was wondering about Skipper too. We need all the help we can get. If we had another linebacker and a stout Dlineman.... or 2015 defense Id like our chances, but if "its and buts were candy and nuts everyday would be Xmas"

If Skipper is done while only playing two games, he should qualify for an extra year.
