RE: Miami Predictions and banter
I just checked the participation list on the rocket web site. Skipper played v Tulsa. Therefore, I do not now believe he will eligible for another year.
By the way, RB Sims played v Tulsa. I thought he was redshirting but that does not appear to be the case.

Rumor has it from someone at the coaches meeting Monday night is that Skipper is done for the year
Of course. Right before the game we absolutely cannot afford to be short anyone.

Wow. That says a lot for a true freshman considering we already have 3 capable backs, 2 of whom are underclassmen.

If you play in <30% of the games before the injury, you can still get a medical redshirt, assuming the player hadn't already missed a season.
I posted in another thread, but Skipper was injured on the opening kickoff ... he limped off the field after than play, and I didn't see him again.

Have you been hanging out on the Miami Boards? It will be closer than that. Should be a good game.
Not at all. I've been hanging around the Glass Bowl, and the TV for the Nevada game. I don't see how our defense is going to stop Miami from putting up 50. From what I hear, Miami will not have the worst defense in the country, plus we tend to get off to slow starts, so I'm giving us 3 TD's and 2 FG's. Seems about right, unfortunately.

this is a team that will battle. Tulsa taught us that. Miami is simply pretty good on offense. Great rb like Tulsa. Solid o line, but with no preseason all ACC 1st 2nd 3rd teamers and more modest recruits than other position groups. Talented receivers and qb, but not too experienced or other worldly. Defense front 7 is loaded with talent, much of it proven. they have a big advantage comparatively with our front 7. Their dbs will probably be good but again not an all american type group. They have played 1 weak FCS team this year, so they got about 3 quarters of relatively full speed play in for their top guys. Guaranteed Toledo's passing game will have some moments. Likely our run game has some success, although I expect Miami to have some series where they stuff us as well. If our defense plays lights out, or just is opportunistic enough to force some field goals tries and get a turnover or two, it will be a close game. The only nightmare scenario to me is Woodside gets hurt or our offense moves the ball generally well but doesn't take advantage of it and put up many touchdowns, while we have no answer for their run game. Those could happen but I see a team ready to show up and surprise the skeptics.
latest weather predictions show rain systems breaking up more and the wind dying down. humidity predictions have lessened from 90% to 75% so it will only feel like 96 instead of 99

Honestly they scored like 31 to 34 vs. mostly average ACC teams a season ago. Holding down WVU 31 to 14, beating App 45 to 10, and beating Pitt 51 to 28 were their impressive wins. No kayaa or great TE (who went 1st round) makes their O at this point... behind it of last season.
As i think our running game would fair a little better with Kareem if this has been played last season. Our receiving game has taken a step forward with Dionte though... Losing Roberts is tough.
I dont think Miami can score quick enough to keep us out of reach. If you only run...and dont **** ur pants getting to the ball to snap it like Tulsa? 5 ypc will move the ball slow enough to keep this out of shootout range.

App State was running the FB effectively against Miami. Once they figured out Lamb wasn't a good passer, Miami brought everybody up to
play the run and that's when it went downhill for ASU.

NC State is now beating Florida State 17-7, nearing end of the 1st half, in Florida.
Looks like these Florida 1-gamer teams are vulnerable. :)
