RE: TV rating for Memphis - UCLA?

Who negotiates the TeeVee contracts? I thought it was an Aresco development.
The current AAC TV contract runs thru 2019-2020 season & is considered extremely undervalued based upon the good TV ratings of AAC games. Aresco is the primary party negotiating the new contract which should begin preliminary discussions with ESPN next year. Our president, David Rudd heads up the committee with two other AAC school presidents, that will be involved in negotiations. Industry analysts suggest the AAC should see their next contract equal 2X - 4X the current contract value ($2.23M/school), in the next contract. NBC, CBS & the streamers are said to be interested in competing with ESPN for at least some of the content. With the addition of WSU in BB & the viewer ratings of the AAC FB games, the AAC seems well positioned to get a substantial TV contract increase - and separate itself from the other non-power conferences to become more of a power conference (Aresco's P6 narrative promotion) or at least a "tweener" distinct from the G4.

RE: TV rating for Memphis - UCLA?
For comparison, y'all:
Our win: UCLA ranked #25 at the time, with wins over Texas A&M and Hawaii.
South Florida beat Illinois, who is 4th in their division of the Big 10, with wins over Ball St. and W. Kentucky.
Houston beat Arizona, which boasts a win over Northern Arizona.
Three AAC wins over P5 schools thus far this season.
UCF has Maryland on Saturday. Uconn gets Mizzou and Boston College later. Houston plays Texas Tech on Saturday.
We might not win our conference but I'll bet we finish with the best P5 win.

Like it was debated in another thread, yes. One at home each season & one away. It can be done, just too many examples of P5/G5 games being played to say it can't. And while there is a slight NY bowl risk in this approach, the wins are BIG & the attendance dollars are too. As a prime example, the UCLA win is really big in exposure (recruiting, P6 promotion, adding fans, attendance) both for Memphis & the conference. Further, I read really positive articles in the LA Times, the Oregonian, USA Today, SI - giving Memphis & the AAC great exposure all around the country.
my response would simply be look at the current condition of our football program. Bowen and Rudd clearly know what they're doing, so let them handle it.

UofM, we could say look at the state of the hoops program, so they clearly don't know what they are doing. Both statements equally meaningless.
Future OOC schedule is very poor, and it will be reflected with lower attendance, no matter how much fans like you want to bury their heads in the sand and ignore it.

No need to be concerned on that front, Bowen, Rudd & the admin will always be the ones to handle it. Several of us just expressing our opinions.
