Certainly. But Skip Holtz Tech teams have not shown the ability to beat/finish p5 schools or big games in conference. See USM last 2 years and CCGs. They are 8 pt favorites and I see them covering unless we are much better in the redzone and don't fumble. Both things we haven't been great at doing.
I'm not sure this LA Tech team can score enough points to beat South Carolina. We've got to score more the 21-23 points (our last two outings) to beat an SEC team on the road.
22 would have won it last year. Just depends on the type of game we find ourselves in. I would have guessed we'd need more to beat WKU as well.
J'Mar has now started 4 games at QB (including the Arkansas game last season). Against Arkansas he led his team to a total of 20 points, and lost the game 21-20. Against MSU, Tech scored 21. Against WKU, Tech scored 23. Do you see a trend here?

Yeah, outside of the fcs start, low 20s and 14 against MSU. All I suggested is that sometimes (as in Arkansas) ~25 points would be enough to win. That, of course, hinges on defensive performance. I would much rather see us get to the 30s now, of course. Hopefully this week, and especially next week at home.

A trend that of those 4 games, two were SEC defenses. The kid will have 3 of his first 5 starts against SEC defenses. He will be fine.

SEC games count too. And these "SEC games" are the ones where he needs to score more points.
I'm not worried about us scoring 35-40 points against most CUSA competition.
However, J'Mar's got to figure out a way to get LA Tech to at least 30 points a game to have a chance in some of these SEC venues.

I'm starting to get more optimistic. I still think we fall short, but some of the injuries to USC may present an opportunity for us to take advantage. There's a reason we play the game.

Don't think we have enough on Offense to score 20+ points to win this game.
We will probably need our D and special team to chip in some points for us to have a chance here.

South Carolina is terrible. I still can't believe they hired muschamp. Nevertheless, i dont think la tech is very good and will prob lose. However, i hope tech wins. If tech plays their best game and error free, they have a shot.

I just don't know how to handicap this game. I watch the Kentucky loss last Saturday and USC looked defeated. They lost Deebo Samuel for the season but could come out motivated. I would love nothing more than to beat South Carolina in Columbia but I just don't see it.
